Anyone else on the HAMB build auto models? I have been working on a colelction of custom plastic models for the past year or so , and just finished this 32 Ford last night. It's done in Beret matte green with silver black flames and spoked wheels. I painted every little part and did the flames with an airbrush for that smooth look anyone else toy with these?
Yeah I've been building em since I was like 14, about 13 years now!!! Mainly build 1/25 scale plastic, but also like customising hot wheels diecast as well!! Sorry, dont have any pics as they are all back in OZ. I'm sure Brootal will post some pics, he has some pretty cool models. Also WhoDaky has some crazy insane diecast too Paul
Yup. Did my first one at 6...a 70 Boss 302. Still have it. In fact, I'm in the process of moving & did a quick "inventory" I stopped counting at 400. 400?!?!?! There's got to be some kind of syndrome ***ociated with this behavior. It all may be for sale.....soon.
I've been looking at a few at the local hobby store, so in time i will pick up a couple and try to make a model that looks like my real Hotrod! The bummer thing is they don't make 1930 Ford Model A 5 window coupe, so i'll have to be creative once i find the right one, build it, i'll post a photo of it! I guess if i want to build the real thing someday, here's a good way to start and learn how to piece the thing together and customize it CAB
Hey Steve... Try contacting these guys http://www.fremontracing.com/ and see if they will make you a custom resin body.. I've been lookin for 2 years for a 26 Roadster body with a rear deck to make a clone of my roadster I met them at Hot Rod Reunion and sure enough they had the Roadster... You might be able to schmooose them into making it...Just a thought,,, heres there email: curtissigns@msn.com evel
The first time you guys see a ****** yur gonna throw them model cars right out the window. Just kiddin - nice work you guys. I'd build them too but being a dad leaves me no time to be a kid.
Been modeling since my first one in '62. I collect all the model mags, too. I had a real problem finishing one since '73 though. I plan on buying and building more if I can sell all my unbuilt Nascar models. Joel Oh, by the way, all the AMT AFX cars are gonna be re-released soon. Like the '67 Cyclone, '63 Tempest, ect. Plus the '65 Falcon AFX w/ Daddy Warbucks and Georgia Shaker graphics. Should be sweet!
Amt's re-releasing those?!?!?! Damn it! I can't. I can't buy any more models. I mean it. Someone stop me! (I need an intervention here)
[ QUOTE ] Hey Coupe-De-CAB, I sent you a pm. [/ QUOTE ] Thanks Sancho and K&R, ...very nice! best wishes, CAB
kool stuff ,i started a club at yahoo http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hotrodmodelcarsfrom1950to1970/?yguid=110718205 .its mostly boxart but feel free to join and post pictures of model hotrods.
I still build models on occatiom. Haven't actually 'finished' one though. Have probably 50 partially built models from the late seventies till late nineties. Mostly musclecar stuff. I always look at the new releases at the store but can never pull the trigger on buyin' one. Got too many unfinished already. Josh
I hadn't built one for 45 years but I'm in the middle of this HO scale Merc for a friend. He had about 6 of them all the same on a rr club layout and I couldn't take it any more, had to rod one.
One I built several years ago of my Safari.Used a 55 Nomad kit and an Ex-el 55 Pontiac promo.Had to shorten the 1/4's because the Star Chief was longer.Kinda crude but it gets the idea across.
[ QUOTE ] Hey Where did you get those Slicks From???? I need some BAD!!! Thanks EVEL [/ QUOTE ] I got them from this kit....
The black and white photo, really aren't "model" cars, they were dealer promos. If yer dad was lookin to buy a new car they might give one to the kid! My dad used to like to shop around...............OLDBEET
...i have been looking high and low for a plastic 30 coupe model...are these Monogram kits still in production? or where can i buy one?
