A 1/8th scale twin-engine ******* vette i'm working on. A 1/8th T-Bucket with a blown corvair engine and transaxle. Haven't gotten much farther than those pics though. I prefer the bigger scales, they're a bit easier for me to work with.
the '30 coupes hae been out of production for a while now. Think the last issue was in black and was a double kit with a '20's lincoln or something. Try e-bay or one of the model car boards. Toy fairs! Geoff aka Whodaky
as some of you may know i posted this the other night about if anyone had the magazine that this was in and it looksed like nobody had it but this here is a model that my dad built in 1964 for a revell-pactra compe***ion and thanks to K&R I'm now on a hunt to find the magazine that this car was featured in. john
Jimmy B, what kit is that chanelled '32 roadster? Here's some of mine you've probably seen before... I really wish I had some better pictures of this one
K&R, JimmyB, The Monster, duece, all you guys...really sweet lookin stuff. I **** at building models but still try once in a while...have a habit of starting em and never finishing. The Monster...what possesed you to but a Vette front end on a Nova?(that is a Nova right?)! Greg
Deuce...I remember when I was a kid, I went with my dad to your place (he was doing some electrical work) and I saw all your models. I think you had a couple Deoras and a Little Coffin out. But you were working on some hotwheels at the time. Then you showed me your kit collection....I was amazed at that closet full of kits. I guess it sorta had an impression on me
bufordtjustice, I use to own a 72 and a 68 nova. over the years i would build tons of the nova kits to try different things out to it before i did it with the real cars. which i dont think i did anything to the cars i ever did to the models, except paint jobs. but i had sold the novas and still had a kit laying around un-built and I was a bit tired of building them, but im not one to throw away anything. i also had a corvette kit too. i dont know who GAVE me that kit, cause i love chevys, but i cant stand vettes. I was going to mangle the vette buy shortening to much it would look like an acordian. I cut off the front clip first. the nova kit comes with the full front clip removed, so it was easy to match them up. i just started comparing body lins and shapes, and i needed to do a bit of fabbing, but for the most part they are really simular. I also put the interior in it, seats, dash, and used the wheels/tires and brakes. It was more of a proto type than a finished kit, but it was fun and i entered it along with a host of other models in the last portland hot rod show model contest, haha! thanks for noticing and for the comment!
[ QUOTE ] Jimmy B, what kit is that chanelled '32 roadster? [/ QUOTE ] Revell Ford '32 Highboy. I sectioned the interior, seat, firewall, radiator, Grille shell and cut out the fuel tank but left the rear rails for push bars. Motor is the Revell reissue of the Cad 364ci with six 2s. Wheels are from the AMT '62 Chev Belair 409. K&R, what did you build the green '32 out of? Its awesome I built this one to the box
I hate you guys for being able to post pitures... as soon as I am able to post, i wanna throw up some Mercs I chopped, and some hot rods and kustoms I have built and wasted too much time on. If I have to, I'll just dig this post back up and bring it back when I get my pics up.
joel, heh, heh, that's just part of them. it's like having my own little hobby shop in a closet. nothing better than opening the door, taking a whiff and saying "ah, old plastic." it also takes me back to when i started buying models (around '63) and for some reason i just never have stopped.
JB...i can never find one of those Revell roadster kits. All I ever see is the three window! The green '32 is from that ugly "32 Phantom Vickie" kit. I used the body, grill shell, and most of the frame...everything else is from the parts box or scratch built.

[/ QUOTE ] It is the opposite here in Australia, all I see are the '32 roadster kit I want to build a three window channelled over an A Model frame & build a '29 on Deuce rails. Oh well [ QUOTE ] The green '32 is from that ugly "32 Phantom Vickie" kit. I used the body, grill shell, and most of the frame...everything else is from the parts box or scratch built. [/ QUOTE ] That's cool, I like it alot
