    Hi everyone
I'm going to use my stock 30A parking brake lever to activate my 66 bronco stock drum parking brakes. I can easily measure the travel length of the hole in the bottom of the hand lever but I haven't been able to find how far the ends of the cables have to travel to activate the brakes, does anyone have this dimension. If nobody knows this lm prepared to assemble both ends and experiment with the emergency brake lever ratio. Thanks in advance.

I'm using a model A handle in my '32 with 10" Bendix drums and Lokar cables. I never measured the actual cable travel, but the brakes hold solid on the third "click" or notch.

So you don't have a lever between that changes the ratio?

  4. Kind of depends on how well the rear shoes are adjusted. On correctly adjusted shoes you will have very little cable travel...may be 1/4 inch, and the handle will catch the first notch.Left unadjusted as the shoes wear you will use up all the notchs, and wish for more.

No lever, just the universal Lokar cable kit.

I wish I had seen that kit before buying the stock back cables, some times trying to stock up ahead of when you need something works against you.
