sorry guys, don't have nothing new to post, since i haven't worked on a model for awhile now, but on a cool note... I entered my Model in yesterday's model show at Billetproof and guess who won " best hotrod"?

I was so surprised on winning an award since there were so many awesome model builds displayed! i saw this booth last year and remembered there was this Model car show at BP, so this year i decided to bring mine just to show it off and i ended up coming home with this kick *** trophy for it:)
made my day and got me inspired to build a better one for next years show!
So if any of you bay area model builders want to enter this next year, you should... it's cool to see the talent of model building here in Norcal.
Take care and keep up the awesome work guys.

It's been a while, but I finally can say that I think the interior for my '56 Pontiac is just about done. This is for a Johan promo that had no interior, so I got a resin interior from Model Car World, which turned out to be be a bit rough. [IMG]

So, I reworked the dash, sanding all of the detail off. The dash inserts were made from photetched br*** that I did the artwork for & etched. I made a couple of dash knobs, then made resin copies.

After painting, the inserts were covered in bare metal foil. The steering wheel is a custom piece Rikster sent me, & I made a steering column to match as well as the shift & turn signal levers. I drew up the guage faces, printed them out, & made photocopies on clear film. The center console is scratch built with a foil copied hood trim. The console trim was another one of Rikster's ideas.

I still have to polish the body out, but this is what it looked like a few months ago. Candy pagan gold body with a candy tangerine flake roof.

Man, I'm diggin those cars!!! I've built some models but yours actually look real. Do you usually pick up a whole model kit just to use a few parts from it, or do you save stuff from previous kits, or... ???

Thanks! Mostly just save up either extra parts from kits or parts off junkers. Now I'm kind of getting into restoring old beat up hot rod kits from the '60s when I find 'em (like that '29). I just finished up a '32 coupe tonight and i'll post some pics tomorrow.
