I am thinking about making an offer on a Model T 2 door sedan. A friend of my fathers has owned it for several years and has metioned selling it. From what I can see it is all original and the interior is the worst part. The front fenders are removed and sitting on the front seat. I assume that they were removed to make it easier to work on the engine. Any idea what this car would be worth? I am thinking somewhere around $2500 but I am not sure. I will try to get some pictures to post. I cant stand seeing a car this old just sitting in a garage without any TLC. Thanks
A good body with minimal rust and good doors is worth that alone. What are you going to do with it if you buy?
I had no trouble finding a guy willing to go $1500 for a complete tudor the top had been cut off from, but it got crushed before I could buy it.
I am not sure what I will do with it. I hate to rod it because it is complete. It might be cool rolling around town in something with wooden spokes. Plus I have never driven a T-model with all those pedals on the floor and the shifter on the column. Who knows ???
Ah there is no shifter on the column. That lever would be the throttle. You push on the pedals for forward and reverse. Some have no electric start just the crank. A friend of mine restores model T's and there cool because there so primative. You won't have to worry about someone stealing it, they won't know how to start it or drive it. Here's a model T fire truck he restored and him out on the ice with his.
Doors and door latches for '26-'27 sedans are difficult to find if needed. Make sure you have both or you will have to open your wallet to buy some good ones. Rebuild spring kits are available for the latches. Engine and drive train parts should be no problem.
