Hi all I am starting on a new project, It is a 26 Model T coupe, it will be a 7" chop and channeled 3", . I have a4 drop axle for the front and will be doing a quick change in the rear, I am looking for some frame ideas, similar to my car with the chop and channel, I would like to see some frame pics and car pics maybe get an idea of how I want to do the front of the frame etc.

    Thanks in advance

What shape is your body in, I have the drivers side cowl, drivers rear quarter and quarter window tin, subrail, and subframe cross rails if you need to do repairs.

May I suggest that you scan the thread called "who's building a T" as there are over 50 pages of model T projects and once you determine what stance you like then it maybe as simple as contacting the owner.

    Otherwise here are a couple of leads, non of which are mine.. 101_6114.jpg image001.jpg ImageUploadedByTJJ1357971384_245822.jpg Tall%20T%20basic%20frame.jpg TmercurtyCharliecopy.jpg ZEE%20FRAME%20FLYER.jpg .

  6. Here is a picture of a friend's coupe; just have to imagine the chop, tho.

Another option would be to build it as a highboy on deuce rails. Flat front crossmember, spring over dropped axle, along a "T" rear crossmember and spring in the rear. Low; but not overly so, and your quickchange would show. Could be a pretty righteous hot rod.

with mine, i'm trying to get away from the long look with the front wheels extended way out past the grill. i'm thinking a double z'd model A frame with a spring over the axle, all tucked under the stock front crossmember where it belongs. and try to hide the front z behind the cowl so it looks like a heavy channel. i just hate the look of model T's with 118-130 inch wheelbases.
i started a thread about a week ago asking about reversing the firewall on 26-27 T's to help get away from having so long a wheelbase.

  9. Imagine a chopped coupe body on the deuce frame. Neat if someone could photo shop this picture I found in another thread.

I built mine outta 2" x 3" rec steel with a 13" kick-up in the rear and a 3" 'Z' up front. It's for a '27 RPU with a turtledeck on the back but basically the same concept.

I built my frame loosely based upon an article in the April 1990 issue of Street Rodder about making a deuce-like frame. It has a 106" wheelbase with a rear kickup made from Welder Series "frame curves". It is done hiboy style and as RichB says, you can see the quickchange(if only it had one). Another plus is the trunk is useable - however small. Originally, I was after a channeled car because I love the rear tires higher than the decklid look, but common sense took over. Car has a 7" chop and it is the one in the foreground, not the good looking black one. IMG_0956.JPG

So the project is taken a few turns and twists since I started this so here’s some updates. I now have 2 bodies 1st is not chopped , 2nd has a 10” chop(I’m using this one). In the process of hunting stuff down I changed the direction of the car a bit, now using a set of torque thrusts and a 9” keeping it as a traditional build, and switching to a 3 deuce setup. The quick change I have is from a sprint car so it would be a bit out of place with the traditional look I want finish with. May keep it in the stock height body though. Hers a pic of them [IMG][IMG]
