Hi, I don't know much about these forums, or diddly about cars.. :( But I do need help learning about a part! I found a very old all wooden car part in an old basement. I was once told that it was most likely from a Model T Ford vehicle. It's got the ford written on it, and it's all wooden. He said it was some kind of engine/or starter-upper thingamajig. He really had no idea about that kind of old car, just newer ones! So please help me! If you think you could help, I will send you a pic!! Thanks for looking!

Ford certainly didn't make any wooden engines ...

Can you upload the picture to www.tinypic.com and post it here?

Can't you just post a photo of it here, Lauren?

    possibly a crank start?

  5. If it's a wooden box with a couple posts sticking out of it, you have a coil.

$5 says this is right, I'd bet it's a T coil. Pretty common part, guys buy and sell them on eBay constantly.
