I know most go from drums to disk but I have clearance issues with an 05 blazer axle with disks and the equivalent drum versions 95-96 aren't to be had in my area. I'm wondering if say a drum brake st up from a modern Silverado or something else 10 bolt would work on this axle if anyone has gone either way with this let me know..

  2. no idea...but a Silverado would have a bolt circle of 6 studs on a 6-1/2" bolt circle

    The older silverado / full size trucks 65 to 87 or so, that were 5 bolt were 5 x 5. Blazers and S10's are 5 x 4.75.

Keep looking for a blazer rear with drums or S10. They likely made drum brake S10 til the end.

Not sure if the older chevy car rear ends will work to donate brakes, Check the axle to brake bolt flange pattern and if theres any axle seal interference. You still may have offset differences in the backing plate.

Check with some musclecar guys, see if you can score a set of drums from someone swapping to disc.

I used s10 rear brakes from 2wd s10 to convert my 70 's 8.5 inch 10 bolt to discs, and I believe all of the 5 x 4.75 bolt pattern backing plates and drums should bolt up.

I would look at mid 70s cars
    Rwd with 8.5 10 bolt and 80s p/u
