modernbeat- curious about your wheels

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by SlowLearner, Nov 28, 2003.

  1. I was doing some back searching and ran across your post on wheel adapters: quote;
    "I'm looking at adapting a wheel with 5-on-7.5 bolt circle ('29 Lincoln) to Ford spindles and axles. There isn't enough meat to redrill. I may go with billet hubs (the horror!) or use adapters as a last resort. "
    I'm looking into some big (19-21") wheels myself for my thingie. What are your big Lincolns going on?

    Modernbeat here - at Dan's House - man he's out in the sticks!

    I was gonna use them on my '29 Phaeton cum Modified but now I think they're too wide and the rear tire is too tall. So, I'm gonna run a set of '32 Plymouth 18" rims instead. If I could ever find the "Divco" wheels I'll upgrade.

    Looks like the only way to make those Lincolns work would be to use an adapter.

  3. Thanks for that. Worked at a dairy years ago. Still had one Divco in service. You could flip the seat and drive the damn thing STANDING UP!! Pedals on the floor. Sorry, long gone now.
