That front hump of the driveshaft tunnel you made from a T subrail came out awesome. Giving me plenty of good ideas here.. I never thought at the start of your thread that you would be casting stuff out of aluminum and repurposing early Ford parts into awesome stuff. At this rate, you're going to be making quick-changes out of banjo centers.
Thanks a bunch fellas. I was off to a slow start on the floor, but it's kind of starting to put itself together. Texas- I never imagined I would be doing this either. Some nights I leave the shop and I'm still shocked that this is my car, and I did it. Each step teaches me something, and makes me more confident for the next. Norton- Thanks! ^You two help motivate me, hopefully I can pass some of that back.
N.O.S. Olds 215 glass bowl fuel pump. Found in Ohio on Ebay, but it looks like it came from Minneapolis at some point! I think it has a bit of an "older" look than what I have now.
Aged? It's brand new! In the photo below you can see what the other pump looked like. It's on the right side in between the fan blades.
Whoa baby. I'm still here. Bicycle Season hit us with a right hook. Another month and I should have a life again. In the mean time I have been spending money on more junk. Updates soon!
One of the old guys moved his truck out for the time being so I had a chance to push the car out and have a look at it from a distance. Those little tires are gonna do it. I started the left side patch panel today and started plotting the trans tunnel. I'm gonna try and get to the shop again tomorrow.
It's really coming along famously, Beau! I like the emotion that comes through in your build. I can almost experience your ups and down through the process. I especially enjoy the enthusiasm that is evident when you get that AHA moment, and then make it happen! I'm learning some great things right along with you, thank you so much for taking the time to share!
Thanks Sko. I have studied many, many photos old and new. I think I got it with a little luck and a lot of hours. Concept- Thanks. Learning from me!?!?!?! Hahahahaha! I don't know much!
F'in awesome! Dude, do me a favor and park your daily next to it so we can get an idea of how big/small this thing really is.
I'm one of the "Gate Goons" so you will probably see me. Bob, Did I buy the wheels from your friend in Iowa? I won't be able to bring it this year.
Well, a bit of an update. I blasted the tub last week outside. What a terrible thing to have to do. It was HOT! ...and my sidetrack. I also had to get my teardrop project out of the neighbors garage. My landlord at home now lets me use the garage. Having a garage space at home sure is a nice thing. I can just walk in when I'm done. Anyway, I have been plugging along and made some progress on the camper. The floor skin is on. I started putting the cedar planks on and I found a window from my buddies topper that just got crushed the other day.
