The car is comign along great. You do some really nice fab work. You made the right decision to work in the shop rather than go to LARS. Congrats on getting so much accomplished over the weekend. By the way, how are you attaching the tank to the mounts? Strap? Can't wait to hear that thing run.

Yeah, was good just to focus on the car. Everyone says stuff to me like "you have to make time for this or that show" or "I can't believe you're not going to such and such's" or... I could go on and on. Believe me! I would LOVE to do it all, but this car isn't going to build itself. When it's done I can actually show UP to these functions in a car instead of bumming a ride in someone elses car and for that matter... I can return the favor and give a ride to someone to an event. Lord knows I owe a ton of those rides!

Anyway... to answer your question... YES! Straps! Not sure what yet. Maybe just plain ol' adustable leather straps, but I'm not sure. Just happy it's self-supporting at this point.

"Sweet Carolina (bum bum bum...)..." Great! Now I have Neil stuck in my head!!! GAH!

Thanks everyone for the comments! I'm my own worst critic though. Seems like everything is started, yet NOTHING is finished!!! Nothing you see on the car is finished. NOTHING. Everything needs attention; body work, frame work, engine work, mechanicals, interior, gl***, electrical, fuel, cooling, everything... But, at least 99% of the tasks are started. Finishing them is the last step I guess.

Next thing I'm going to focus on is getting that radiator and grille shell sitting right. That whole ***embly needs to come down about a 1/2 inch or more. Not to mention I haven't even started the insert for the grille or even put mounting tabs on the grille shell. It's just sitting on there.

Gotta' finish the floors and transmission tunnel as well. That's driving me crazy. I can't mount the throttle pedal until I figure out how the tunnel is going to be in that area.

Too much stuff to list, really, but those are the immediate things that come to mind as far as major fabrication left to do.

Going to order materials for the exhaust soon too!! Can't wait to build the exhaust!!! That's super exciting!!! Been saving it till later, but I need it done before I can fire the Hemi. I want to tune the motor with the correct exhaust in place.

Thanks again for the words and for everyone that has helped me get to this point! It's all appreciated, you have no idea!!:cool:

I think he is wondering why they are opposite top and bottom. Usually hinges are installed like the bottom one with the curved part of the hinge facing forward.

  9. looks like the pins line up...

that's art man! - the murray body has some great lines

Ohhhh... okay. Yeah! Just an optical illusion. They line up. In fact. I've never actually had them off of the car and the doors close pretty nice. I'm guessing they've been there since it rolled off the Ford ***embly line.

The top hinge is probably reversed because of the slant windshield.

    LOL! Thanks man!

******! Thanks again for letting me borrow the grille shell. I'm going to take a bunch of pictures of the insert construction and bring the whole shubang back to you this weekend.

Yeah Nate! I can invision baking in the desert sun driving up to that place in no time! Will be a blast! Last time it saw the I-15 it was on a trailer and still had the "to do list" on the door. Was hilarious to see people pull up next to it and read it. :D:D They were probably thinking the rest of the list must be on the other door...

When I first saw this the other thread of this build I was more than skeptical and was worried it was going to turn into another rat rod style build, but it is really looking great. Keep up the good work!

If this car does not make it to the Roundup next year you can expect a punch in the balls from yours truly.

Meanwhile I am just treading water.

    Reinforcement none the less.

I am hoping I do not have to resort to such measures. I will expect the same from you just because I never make any progress and only switch my plans every other month. I hope to have the '32 ready for The Lone Star Roundup 2025....but check back next month.

That's some awesome work there Scooter!!!!

Makes my hands itch to get back onto my Austin - great to be getting a "preview" since mine is going to end up pretty similar in overall look. Now if I can even get close to yours when it comes to all the finer detail......I'll have done really well!!
