    Scooter,

Thanks again for the visit and shop tour. Always great to see you, and had a blast spending the day with you. I really hope you take some of Jeff's dating secrets to heart.

The car is mind blowing! If is even more breathtaking in person. The more I look back, I do remember three years ago when the shell sat in your Garage. My, My have you come a long way with it!

Now, has anyone seen my sawzall?

HAHA! Just saw all these comments. Thanks guys!

Nate! Put away the sawzall. That's not very "family-like"... unless you're Jeff! Haha!

Since I've got your guys' attention, maybe you can give me some feedback on soemthing. I've been thinking about those tank brackets and the welds. Originally I was going to leave them, but the more I look at them, the more I'm thinking the welds don't look very consistant. Thinking of smoothing them out and being done with it.

    Thoughts?

I was up late watching Mad Fabricator videos last night. I was sort of in a slump after a low motivation weekend (which resulted in very little creative energy or drive to work), so that jazzed me up a little. I woke up in the middle of the night with cold sweats, thinking about how to run my exhaust. HAHA! Funny thing is, I think I have it figured out now... :D:rolleyes:

I would. Also possibly use some carriage bolts for your methond of attachment too? Just be cautious because the more you finish your welds here the more your going to want to do it over the entire car to keep up the appearance.

Ok, just run a finger full of Bongo over the welds to smooth out the fillet. Then take the brackets to an aluminum foundry and use them as patterns to have aluminum MOON tank like brackets cast.

I like the idea of making them look cast. I think in the end it will make for a cleaner piece and not distract from the tank. Soooo whether that come from grinding down the welds or having something cast is up to you. I think the direction is right though.

I just think the cast and gl*** beaded brackets would go well with the quick change.

You guys have confirmed my thoughts. The welds have been bugging me since I bolted them to the car. Everything else on the ch***is will be smoothed out, so I don't think it will be right to leave them and I don't think they're nice enough either. To inconsistant. They're not TIG welds.

Casting idea is interesting. I like it. Not going to happen anytime soon, but maybe in the future.

Thanks guys!!!! I appreciate the input!! I believe in the details... The details have to be done right also. Smoothed out is the way in my mind...

Carriage bolts! That would match my tail light bolts. Good idea! Hadn't thought of that Nate! Thanks!
