    Thanks Jay, Rich, and everyone!

Nope! Sort of put it on the back burner to think about it. Decided to stop thinking about the body work for awhile and refocus my energy on getting the chassis completed. At some point I will put the body back on, build the headers for the Hemi and stare at the rear lower panels some more.

Ya know I was in the shop the other night listening to Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony getting my gansta on and the song "Change the World" came on.
I had a sudden taste for cotton candy and it made me think of you and your car.

Okay! And here we go!! Long weekend progress report!! Was a great weekend of building!! Also gave me a chance to catch up with my good friend Bean, whose HAMB name will remain anonymous to protect the innocent... HAHA! :D

Everything organized and ready... (or so I thought)

    Front spring secured in place...

    Rear together...

Next it was time to put the Model A spring with back together. I had the eyes on this spring reversed a while back, so it makes it impossible to use a standard spring spreader for this. So, we installed the main leaf, and then used a piece of round bar to keep all leaves centered and in place while installing and clamping the rest of the leaves in place. Took about a half hour to assemble the whole pack.

And then it was time to put it in place! A glorious moment for sure!

The front was an issue. Rod ends wouldn't seat right in the frame so the tapers essentially had to be hand filed until they were correct. Took forever, but they are secure.

This is about how far the assembly went until we realized that at some point during the parts prep period I had mis-placed a king pin. I spent several days organizing and re-bagging nuts, bolts, and parts so the assembly would go quick, but some how that king pin didn't make it into the right bag. So this is where we sat after the first day of assembly.

    Hold tight for day two...

Day two... Everything else for the chassis...

Found the king pin in a very unsuspecting location: right where it was being stored to begin with. Just rolled under one of the carbs that was in there. Not being able to find it the day before put a huge damper on everything. My buddy Erik (Tetanus Shot) had an extra and was going to help us out, but it turned up right before he came over, so work continued to THIS!

Then that just left one more thing to do...

    ...Add a 331 Chrysler with a T56. :D

Wasn't too bad, actually! Hardest part was just spreading the main leaf by hand and getting the shackle in. Two-person job! The rest was just slow going with a sh*t ton of clamps to keep us safe!

Lots of things left to do on the chassis....

    - zerk fittings need to be added in several places
    - brake lines still need to be run
    - few paint touch-ups and repairs
    - shocks still need to be re-indexed (having a hard time pressing the arms off) and installed
    - double check all bolts and torque values
    - need a couple replacement tie rod boots
    - need grease seals for front hubs and the bearings still need to be packed.
    - rear wide-5 covers need shoulder bushings made before permanent installation

  14. Looks like it ended up being a pretty good weekend for you! The chassis looks fantastic!! Getting there.

Holy shits Scoots!!!!! That blue against the black is fucking retarded!!! I love it!!

Here's some trick shit I never knew about on your car. First did you cut the tops off Wide five drums to cover the adapters out back? Fuck that's awesome!!! Really cool since these drums are becoming harder and harder to find.

Bendix brakes up front? 2" or 1.75"???

Proud of you dude, this car is slicker then a nipple with some cole slaw on it.

The brakes are the MT, non self-adjusting type. I think they're supposed to be the Lincoln repops? 1-3/4" shoes are used with the Wide-5 drums.

YES! The rear wide-5 covers are split front drums. The drums were used on Bean's arm stand and I had the rear bearing support on the center hub portion machined off so it could function as a cover.

Love the color choice! I didn't realize Washington Blue was that dark. Looks real good with all the black. I think I will be going with Andalusite Blue (another Model A color) on my roadster, its a bit darker. Your frame being painted with blue with all the other components black gives me better confidence of my choice.

That frame all painted and all together looks Bitch'n! Nice work. Can't wait to see more progress! One more huge step done!

Thanks everyone! And yes, couple spots places on the black where the Smurfy undertones comes though. It'll be fixed. The good news is, the primer held up to the damage! So that's good!

Super glad you stopped by, Gary!! Great seein' ya! Hope you guys have/had a safe trip pack to Oregon!
