    Hey Scoot-

    I know you were talkin 3003 aluminum for your roof panel insert, but in the interests of savin time have you thought about an insert off another vehicle? Maybe a 3th-4th generation Camaro/Firechicken cut out & trimmed to fit?

    Even if ya go with aluminum and you have a wheel with a frame large enough to wheel out half a panel at a time, my money says 25+ hours to get a panel you'll want your name attached too!

    WOW!! Just saw all these posts! Thank you sooo much everyone! I really appreciate the comments. Seems like I haven't even got to share the detail work yet. That's the stuff I'm REALLY excited about! I have every detail figured out in my mind and I'm ready to get on them! One step at a time, though. Of course it's hard to be patient at this point. The details are the fun part! Just gotta get through all the base construction and then on to that stuf. It will take a little more time, of course. But it will be great to have it on the road while I'm finishing up the details.

    Bob! I always appreciate the rides, brotha! Can't wait to give you a lift for a change! I owe you quite a few!

    Rex buddy!

    Yeah, thought it over several times in my head. The time to make the insert is no big deal. Not too worried about it. I don't have to have it done to drive it, so I can take my time and work on it a little bit at a time. It will take me a TON of time, but I would rather have exactly what I want than settle for something that wasn't part of the plan. I've come this far, no reason to settle. If I screw it up, I'll learn from my mistakes and try again.

    Mostly I just want to learn how to wheel a panel of this size. After making the buck, it really doesn't look as bad as I thought it was going to be. Sure, it won't be easy, but I'll take my time. I've been working with the wheel quite a bit lately and feel like I've got a good handle on it. Far from pro, but only way to learn is to pick up the material and go at it. The biggest thing I've learned about wheeling so far, is to stopping before going too far. Can't wait to get started on that panel though! And just to make it even MORE challenging... it will get 5-ribs riveted to the underside and a surrounding lip riveted on as well! :eek::rolleyes::D Should be a GAS! HAHA!

    I must be psychotic... :eek::eek:

    With a little luck... maybe even go for a DRIVE!!

    Dude! Thanks again so much for use of the wheel, bead roller, shrinker/stretcher, etc.!! Saved my life here man! Never would have been able to get all that shape for the tunnel without that stuff!

    Scott what tank are you using? I seem to remeber you got it from The Hot Rod Company? How are you planning on finishing it? I am looking for something for my truck and can't quite decide what to use.

    Scott, holy hell! Druss32 sent me the link and I'm in awe. The tunnel clearance and the roof opening detail are where it's at! It's funny how a floor of a car can inspire someone. I've got a few ideas for mine now.

    So rad!

    No need to say, "Keep up the good work."

    Yep! That's from The Hot Rod Company. If you're thinking about using one, get your order in. They can take a bit to receive. He buys them from the one guy that's making them, and I think he distributes to a lot of the other big names that are carrying them. Looking over the tank, it's VERY good quality craftsmanship. I'm glad I decided to buy one!
