Well... Things have been REALLY insane here (as some of you already know).

There has been a lot of progress on final prep for paint, however, in the last few months my wife and I have had to face some life realities as well as make some HUGE decisions which have thrown a m***ive wrench in my plans...

...I've decided that I'm going to try and make this the longest build series on the HAMB, EVER! HAHA!

I have a few weeks to put this car loosely back together and prepare to put it on a trailer and move it all the way across the country to North Carolina!:eek::eek:

Yep! Job and life change! Never thought I would leave Southern California, but sometimes life just is what it is. Been a very difficult decision.

The good news about all this is, I will get to finish this car in my OWN garage in my OWN home. Maybe that's just the way is was meant to be...

Charlotte is the new Austin....except with out the concentrated amount of cool hot rods.....and 2-3 major shows.....and congress st.....and the music......and a speed shop.....and oh you get the point though!! It's on it's way, you gotta believe me!

This is going to be a pivotal point in your life that you'll look back on and be happy with the choice you've made. I think things are going to work out great for you and Holls.

    Let's see some progress pics!

I can't believe it's been that long since I started following this build. Just when I thought you might have run out of steam along comes another thread bringing us up to date. don't feel bad about the length of time your taking I've got a '32 5w that been hanging around for 40 years waiting to be built. I can only justify that by the fact I've built and enjoyed a dozen or so cars in the meantime. Your still young, got lots of time. At 67 I'm closing in on the finish line so I'd better get to building.:) It's nice out today...think I'll take a ride in the '32 2dr.......the 5w can wait.

You'll fit in fine! Glad to have both of you on the "right" coast!

Scooter, North Carolina will be definitely and adjustment from California, but after a while you will love it. Super nice people, great weather, beautiful State. We lived in Winston-Salem for a while and loved it, then we moved to California and couldn't afford to live there, so we moved back to Pa. But moving around can be a great adventure and there is a whole lot of the world out there we never get to experience if we stay stuck in one place all our life.

The biggest adjustment is usually for the wife. We guys can be happy living in a shoe box but women form attachments to family, friends, and places, so if you get her on the same page the transition will be much easier. Good luck with the move.

Thank you everyone for your overwhelming response! I appreciate it! Everyone's feedback on the situation has been great and it's certainly made things a little easier...

Looking forward to some new adventures! Never thought the first roads the car would see would be in North Carolina. One thing is for sure... I really do love the roads out there! Hoping that I get to drive those roads while the trees are changing! That would be a dream!

Ok Dave let me unpack that reply you just made....

First of all when it comes to ScootieTang, he doesn't need a club because his wheel is removable.

Second of all, ScootieTang has not proven himself to be "Curious" enough to be a lord since we've never seen him in a glittery jacket, paint his engine pink or snuggle with a man in a sweater vest made of hair.

Third, my '35 runs.....it just doesn't drive. So blow it out your ***.......can we make up now? Come to the Auto Fair afterparty!

****, there is a trend going on. It seems that moving to NC is directly proportional to how "off topic" your threads will become. You just mentioned moving to NC Scott and this thread is turning into a mess. See it's not just Iron Lords it's North Carolina....gotta be the Nuke plant on Lake Norman.

BWahahahaha!!! Seriously laughing hysterically over here!

I will post some pics of the house when I sign my life away at closing. Don't want to go jinxing anything just yet. So far so good and everything seems to be falling in to place! Besides, then too many of you might figure out where I live!:eek::rolleyes::D

I do believe we will be taking the 40 pretty much all the way out there...

Thanks for all the encouragement, guys! Looking forward to meeting so many new people!

Scott, good luck on the move and the new job!! I had a buddy quite a few years ago that moved there. The property he had here totally paid for the 400+ acres he bought there.

I am sure it was a diffcult decesion. My wife and I have been contepmlating Montana for a few years now. Who knows??

  23. If I'm not mistaken, and my math is correct, that will make two hot rod "gingers" in the same town? Is that allowed?

Just kidding Scott! ( not you Jeffery ;))

Congrats! And if you come through KC, give me a shout.

  24. No, I'm a blonde ( and the carpet does match the d****s...;))

Alright let's get this straight. Neither me or S.Co.TT are gingers. It just so happens that my facial hair is coming in red but i've been blonde my whole life.....it is getting darker as I get older. I've shaved my facial hair now so there is no remnants of red.

Plus there are more ginger like people in Charlotte for us to feel comfortable in our skin of I do decide to grow the beard back.

    Yours truly, The Polish Prince

This thread has gone completely off track. Dudes Gone Wild! What the hell happened????

Cactus would fit right in here with a banjo playing bluegr***....or like I said The Devil's Reject's Part Deux. I doubt we could pull him from KC though. He likes being centrally located.
