Has anyone built custom spindles to or modified some forged spindles for a early-Ford style dropped axle? I couldn't find much information on any of this with a search. Thanks

I need actual experience for building or modifying spindles, I can't purchase this spindle I need. As far as I know there is no dropped-axle style spindle with a Wide-5 sprint car-style snout.

"Wide-5 sprint car-style snout" ,dont know much about that..i know you can either have them turned down for the wheel bearings you need or tell the bonehead behind the counter what you have and what you want it to fit to as far as rotors or whatever.....as far as changing the casted spindle for a drop, i just dunno i would think they must be casted for the application then just cleaned up with machining....im not sure what your after...but boy id still like to find a good spindle and king pin chart..theres an assload of them on ebay all the time and i dont know what is what for the I beam axles...

You can get weld up spindle kits from circle track supply houses like stock car products. I know you can get the spindle snouts from there but you would probably need to get the rest of the spindle piece machined from scratch to get a safe way of attaching it.

I used to have a set of 37-41 spindles that were modified. They had the snout cut off flat and then a bolt on snout was attached via four new holes on the spindle. It created a 2-3 inch dropped spindle. I wish I had a picture it would explain it a lot better. These seem to be pretty stout and sturdy and were ran for quite a while.

Those are the hubs, not spindles. As far as I know, Speedway doesn't carry a spindle with a wide5 snout and ford-style kingpin/axle mounting. Thanks for the help guys, those are some good points.

The link doesn't work at all. I appreciate the help, but you don't need to go out of your way to search for these, I've got plenty of spare time.

I've never done earily Ford spindles, but I do make custom stock car spindles. If I can help at all, let me know.

Do you understand the requirements I am describing for my spindle Bugman? Is it that hard to make a custom spindle? I'd like to either buy a spindle that will work with my set-up from the factory, or modify one myself, but I might be interested in buying a custom spindle from you, if that's possible. Thanks
