Dude your car totally rocks! Seriously I look at it and Totally dream or driving that thing! And I do not think about driving other peoples cars much it would be like wearing there socks!
The car looks great man, that windshield frame looks like it was cut from a 40's car or truck and cut down to fit. Whatever it's from it looks good, nice work.
No, but I dream about *** a lot while working on the car Thanks again folks! Here's whats left on the to do list... And what's been crossed off...
Thats a stretch. Depends on how soon I can get the parts I need....if you don't see this I'll call you tomorrow, but I couldn't find those wheel cylinders on Speedway's site....do you have a part number?
Speedway does not carry them. Cheapest is Macs and then the quickest is probably Cl***ic Auto in OKC. 29.99 Macs and 49.99 from Cl***ic. I would try Antique Auto too in Arlington cause he usually carries that stuff normally, Oh by the way looking good.
Thanks Rusty. I was gonna call Antique in the morning. I'm still waiting on something I ordered almost a week ago from Cl***ic....I would hate to have to put my trust in them on this one.
Another option is too call Mike (ElRusto) at AutoZone. He knows the part # to get them locally. They do still sell them. Rusty
I had put 80/90 in Pepe's rear and it leaked like a seive. Bob York told me to run STRAIGHT 140w. O'reilly has it. I'll hit you up later about reaming the bushings .
I filled her full of 85/90. Guess we'll see if it leaks later, huh? Here's a minor update...I got a lot of little **** done this weekend Got the firewall knocked out. No time to bodywork it, but I threw some kinda shiny black on it anyway. Modified one of those cheap race car style battery boxes to work. Made a couple brackets off of the frame and bolted it in. Waiting on an order from Sacto. Ford still to completely finish up the front end. I'll finish the rear brakes tomorrow and get that back on the ground I think. Tried starting it tonight...it popped a few times but thats it. I'll get someone over here who knows what they are doing to help with that. Or that will do it for me anyway. Found some wheel cylinders today. The place in Arlington had them but wanted $80 each! Revhead found a Dorman part number for them. Called Main Auto parts (pretty good local parts store), they didn't have them but could cross it with a Wagner part number. Called O-Really's, they had them at the warehouse under the Wagner number. They are in my hands now! Actually, one is on the backing plate and the other is on the workbench.
Your car, rocks! Many cool ideas, all working together so well.Won't be long now, you're in the home stretch.
WOW !!!!! The work your doing is tuff as hell. I dig the exhaust and the little details all over that ride is gonna make it a stand out car everywhere you go. Good Luck and can't wait to see it in Austin.
That is going together nicely. Just what a nice hotrod should be, straight forward and simple with a few nifty tricks thrown in to ****e it up a bit. I don't envy you on the push to get it done though. I've done too much of that deadline building in the past.
Thanks again folks. I honestly don't know what I had done with the timing....I couldn't tell you what I did so you could tell me what to do. But I brought a co-worker who knows what he's doing over at lunch today and in about 20 minutes it was up and running! I'll make a new post with the video as soon as they finish uploading. It will definately be at Goodguys Kirk, but I'm skurred to autocross it with that rearend.
It's a stock Ford banjo...I guess I'll get used to abusing it but I'm still weary of beating on it with the small block and 3 speed. I know I know...torque the **** out of the axle nuts, they used these in drag cars, they wont break if they're setup right, etc......but I'm still nervous.
