Been working on my project, here's the latest pic's. Used a set of rear springs from a Dodge mini van. I cut and drilled them the correct length and mounted them quarter elliptical style. The mounting box was made with 3/8" plate and boxed with 1/4" plate. I drilled a hole in the end of the spring to keep it from pulling out of the mount, and the clamped it a clamp made frome 3/8" plate.
pic 3 I have not decided how to mount the upper control arms on the rear yet. maybe some suggestions?
Since it looks like you may ned to make a driveline hop maybe you could run the upper arms triangulated into the sides of the driveline hoop
pic 4 I found a dropped tube axle cheap and mounted it useing 2 1/2" pipe 3/8" thick walls, 3/8" plate to make the mount.
willowbilly, Thats what I had planned at one time, the side to side motion should not be a problem due to the springs comeing out of the frame. I would like to keep the rear of the car clean and simple as possible. I will try to use some type of friction shocks hidden as best I can.
make the upper bars (in the rear) look like split bones. in fact use split bones and run em on the outside of the frame. it'll look just a traqnsverse setup would with split bones but the springs are different and the "bones" can be made to pivot at both ends. just a thought...
