Heres a few shots of the 26 modified I started a few years back. The body and rails came from Hot Rod Jim at Lions Hot Rods. They are quality and good to work with. The powertrain is a GT 302, T5, 8.8 Tloc and the rear has been narrowed 4".The front axle and shell are 33.The wishbone is from late 30's Lincoln. Most other components are from Hamb advertisers or my MFG.Sorry about HEI and vega steering(Government Motors) but they were in stock.I will post later if I ever get done.
Nicely done, sir. I'd also like to know more about that steering setup. Is it just two gears turning on each other?
The Vega gear turns the car wrong way and wouldnt place the wheel where i wanted. I used two gears to reverse and place it where it is comfortable. It also has a crisp three turns lock to lock. The Vega steering arm is a thing of beauty and the splines had to be repositioned to allow it to hang vertical with the wheel centered. Have fun!
I hve seen this build progress and it is engineered and hand crafted very nicely. the steering is really cool.
