Several years ago there was a kit produced by a company called "Real Hot Rods". Rod & Custom magazine did a series of articles on building this one.

This one was featured in Street Rodder:

I saw this one at the L.A. Roadster show in '05:

And this is ours, that's been seen on here many times:

To the best of my knowledge, the company only sold 18 of these kits, of which, ours is number nine. I have seen three in person, (counting ours) and four more in photos.

Also ours is the only one that was built with something other than a small block Chevy. (Ous is 8BA powered)

One more event this weekend, then I'll have time. Well in between the winter shows I guess. Matt will make sure we move it along.

  20. A couple of months ago I was shopping for a lowrider kustom. I came across this car on eBay and fell in love with it. Threw a bid at it and ended up as the new owner. I gotta believe that this thread had a lot to do with that. :)

Here's a few pics of my project. I bought the body sixteen months ago and have along way to go!

I'm just sitting here waiting for spring!

    Thanks for the thread!

I like your cool ride, 27kid, great tastes! I was going to ask, what's your tire and rim sizes?

I love both of these cars. The one pic is from an issue in Rolls & Pleats, the other is from Bonneville this year.

That car has an Renault Gordini motor, I believe only one of three in the world. Bad ass car, and a real cool guy.

  28. Perhaps something more basic than this can ( will ? ) be done as this will require good metal shaping skills. I've shown ( in grey ) a side saddle fuel / oil tank. This is to get C.O.Gravity down. I'd want a poly/rubber bladder in these- would be tricky. In meantime hang tank out back in traditional manner.
It's more a bucket than mod but can't stop thinking of Joe Vadala's 'A' in Custom Rodder (Aust. ) around issue 29 1975.
