Had a guy want some fender well exit headers for his Galaxie but this off the shelf set was 4" short. Normally I would just build a new set, or add the extra tube on the outlet side, but the customer wanted the extensions added to the primary side for looks.

I figured the process would be helpful to anybody modifying their exhaust.

The key is building a quick simple fixture. Something to bolt to the flange and catch the outlet. I use a piece of angle iron on the outlet side and place it at the end, that way I know where the headers start and end, and sometimes I also tack in some guides (bent pieces of round stock or tube) to outline the header to make sure no simple mistakes are made during reassembly that could cause clearance issues. 20191023_121712.jpeg

This fixture was built fairly quickly from scrap, but it allowed me to move the flange back while still maintaining the orientation of the header. Everything stays flat and square and I know tubes are in the right place. 20191023_145934.jpeg

Yes. This cup is a size 14. Most anything bigger than an 8 has a diffuser in the cup.
