Does this stuff only work on '57 Chevies? I got a moldy, stinking interior in my '54 Intl. that sits outside uncovered in damp weather, but doesn't leak in the rain. Sits for weeks at a time. Anything else you guys do to prevent mold?

I don't know if it works at all but I do know this, a friend of mine's wife used armor all on the ceramic tile in their bathroom and it keeps mold away for a looonnggg time. Seals it up I guess. Find a product like it to use on your truck. Tim

crack the side windows open, that's all it takes. A half inch open each, no mold.

  4. Ok, so if you already smell mold, you already have it.
There's things that kill mold, there's mold remediation.

This stuff controls moisture, if you can control the moister you can prevent its appearance, but that alone won't reverse the appearance.

Clean it up and place a few desiccant bags in the vehicle. When you buy any kind of electronics like TVs or computers there are almost always a bag or two in the box. Save them, they're free and put 'em in your vehicles, tool boxes or anywhere moisture is an issue.

The new to me kitty litter is this desiccant material. Just lay it up in a couple pillow cases.

    From Wikipedia...

"Purchasing silica in the form of cat litter can be an easy and cost-effective way for retail consumers to purchase silica gel for use in other applications, such as maintaining the desired relative humidity in humidors, keeping tools or other materials rust-free in damp environments or long-term storage, and preserving dried food."

  7. Kitty litter. Just get the cheap stuff, it's all I ever use anymore. From garage spills to this...

I've used this Indicating Drierite as a desiccant in the lab quite a bit. It turns from blue to pink when it's absorbed what moisture it can, then you just spread it out on a cookie sheet in the oven and cook it at 425 deg. F for an hour. It turns back to blue and you are good to go again. It's not as cheap as kitty litter for sure, but you do get an idea when it's stopped working and can use it over again.

Thanks fellas. Gonna try leaving the windows cracked and some kitty litter. I wonder if I can leave an open bottle of bleach in there to kill the smell and maybe some fungi. Don't get much wind, if I could get even a bit of sun I may be able to hook up a small fan
