When I started planning the rebuild of my 292ci inline chevy I planned to use
moly filled or plasma moly rings. I contacted Cliford Performance to purchase
their rebuild kit along with an intake, headers and cam kit. They were absolutely adamant that moly rings were a bad idea and that I should use the chrome rings they recommend because of the 292 six.
I have used moly rings in V8s for many years with no issues. If anyone has any direct experience with moly rings in sixes, I'd like to hear of it.

    Thanks in advance

I always used them in my GMCs. And anything else I was building. Fast seat. No down side that I was aware of.

Same here. Chrome rings had a bad rep for poor break in performance and increased crankcase pressures. Either way you go, make sure your machinist hones for the type of ring you have.
