Nope, here is a close up of the sprocket and the badge. Got a call from someone that owes me, he dug up an old Schwinn frame for me from his wife's uncle's former s**** metal yard. It was run from the 30's thru the 60's up in Susanville. I have cut up other skinny tire single speed bikes, most of them were not complete or all original. But I am about to cut up a Ruddy womens one if someone needs specific parts. Almost saved it just because it's purple.
Reminds of the guy that pulled one of them out of his trailer at Bonneville and was riding around on it. THEN! He went back into the trailer and brought out a "Penny Farthing UNICYCLE!" - his term; and started rolling around! (Unicycle only has ONE wheel) He could turn on a dime! (half expected him to start juggling stuff at the same time!) Man he was good!
I found a few pictures of my old Higgins. These are the only photos I have and were taken in 1999 with a lousy digital camera. It looks to be the same bike. I was told mine was a 1957 by Curtis, the owner of Via Bicycle, a vintage bike shop in Philadelphia. Curtis often rides around on those crazy big wheelers and he sports a handlebar mustache. I wish I had some detail shots, but I don't. The sprocket was the same and the badge on mine was in perfect condition.
Posted many, many times before, but here's two of mine... first is my homemade circa 1976 or so, second is a 1970 Swing Bike hanging in the garage now.
It does look the same. Same rear fender. Is that the correct red reflector? I think I have one in storage. The mount on the forks is for the generator or did you just use it for that?
wowza. i don't have anything this cool. latest thing i did was take an old road bike frame i got for free and built a fixed gear out of it. track cog, new tires and tubes. total of like 50$. not bad.
