Well here in North east Oklahoma, we are sleeted in! Not going to get out and have someone slide into me…..so….I have been catching up on some of the threads I have been p***ing on for a while and found a few thing I can ***** about!
Why do guys who other wise demand perfection in things like frames and body put guber welds on them? Bodies not so much, but frames should be welded good and pretty and yes if it’s good it’s pretty! I don’t go for “ it’s not pretty , but it’s strong” ****! It’s real important to have good welds on a frame. If you can’t weld, hire it done! Kinda important that your frame doesn’t fall apart going down the road! Lol

My other ***** for this miserable Monday is folks s****ing old car parts , that have no value to them and not giving other folks a chance a getting them! You need to have a **** load of car parts to even break even driving to the s**** yard at the prices they are paying around here.
Thanks for letting me get this off my chest! I feel better now!

  4. I drove my old beater to work. ****py welds and glad someone s****ped it.
Had a blast all day working with students.
    Someone bought me lunch
Got a cool no cost to me hat and t-shirt
With zero worries about folks welds or s****

    I’m living the dream

Booger welds are traditional…. And, it makes it easier to get someone else’s ****py junk off a perfectly good frame. Lol.
As for s****ping parts, I don’t s**** out anything, just ask my wife.

As far as the goober welds I think there are far too many guys out there now who never had a welding cl*** and may not have even had one avaiable in school that they could have taken who buy a welder and don't practice enough before they go to welding on their ch***is. There is a reason that John Babbich the ag teacher in the shop beside the auto shop I taught in started the kids out stickwelding s**** pieces together and then testing the welds to see what it took to break them. There is also a reason that their first projects were plant stands. The one in the photo being one that Chris Wentz did as his first project as a sophomore in that cl*** and his mom who is a good friend already had the two that his brothers had made in years before. That was in the early 80's but every kid in cl*** built something similar as their first real project. They didn't start building a winch bumper for their pickup. Simply meaning that you don't go down and buy a mig in the morning and build your ch***is in the afternoon. You do a bunch of small projects that are non car related such as a plant stand that someone in your life will treasure for years even though it is far from perfect to perfect your skills in more than one way.

As for as old parts. I've walked past the same trailer at the swap meet at the Benton-Franklin fairgrounds every year for years and can just about tell you what parts are on that trailer before we get there. Same with several other guys. Either there is no market for their parts or they are overpriced. I've seen too many guys try to sell a 30 dollar fender for 300 and turn down 60 and haul it for s**** because no one wants to pay their asking price though. I've also seen a few life time collections of parts sold or given away for s**** by the families of the guy who ac***ulated them too. I've also seen guys around here haul stuff for s**** rather than deal with people who might buy it or because they would rather take s**** price than an honest cash in the hand price. My buddy had tried to buy a car that a local guy had for years and would stop and ask if he was ready to sell every so often and one day we walked past it in the wrecking yard. The guy called the yard to come tow it off rather than getting hold of him to see if he still wanted it. His answer when asked was that he decided that he wanted it out of the yard that day and just called the wrecker to pick it up. IMG_7627 (2).JPG

My biggest ***** is those that are s****ing parts rather than s****ping them. I s****e parts to clean off the crud. I s**** parts because I'm sick of tripping over them. You have to make sure you have enough 'Ps' in your post.

Apparently I need grammar check! Because the spelling is correct…..just used in the wrong place! If you guys hadn’t said anything…..80% of the guys would not have noticed! :D

A good buddy always said his welds may not look good, but they won't hold either!

Since we are at it. My neighbor had a land survey done. She told to me to get rid of my junk on her property. And she didn`t want my quarter panel leaning on HER wall. So I relocated my stuff behind my dads shed. IMG_5849.JPG IMG_5847.JPG IMG_5846.JPG IMG_5844.JPG

As you can see it was all hidden out of site. Now she has to look at this when she goes down her stairs (it is in direct line of sight) every time she leaves her house. That`ll teach her. DSCF0026.JPG

I live out of town and so don't have neighbors to put up with.
Does that make me a jerk?

  22. Nope. Smart.
I live in a “country suburbanish” area.
The first week here a guy down the street tested and tuned a drag car in front of the house.
    :)
the guy next to me put up a 6ft privacy fence where my shop is. I like it. Looks great.
I fix **** for him and a few other neighbors.

    We do ok around here.

Some of the best welders have the sketchiest grammar. Misuse of site/sight and break/brake happens all the time. Don’t get me started on their misuse of they’re. There I go working for free again. Those grammar police don’t pay at all and never even give credit where due.
As for the weather, well it’s inside time. Time to get stuff done you can’t do when the gr*** is growing and the sun’s a shining. I just don’t need a reason to be grumpy when I can feel it in my bones. I do have time for project planning and research to slice right through that do/redo cycle. Maybe this retirement thing isn’t such a bad deal after all.

I hope you guys are having fun!:D:D:D
When I had spelling cl*** in about 1965, my teacher would line us all up around the room and give us spelling words….if you missed a word you had to sit down….with the best spellers still standing and spelling! I purposely misspelled my first word so I could sit down and not have to spell anymore and got to watch the other *****s!

    I guess it shows……..

I’ll never forget a car I seen years ago.
    Model A.
The thing was literally covered with poor welds in places that scared the hell out of me.
Out of concern for the Driver/owner and everyone else on the road
    I respectfully expressed my opinion.
He explained to me he was a certified welder and the car was properly welded before applying welds with ******s and spot welds and bird **** just to shock everyone. WTF……
