Amen to that. When I saw the post where box loads of ignition parts were deemed tossable, I thought I would hemorrhage. ( after saying don't I got flak from a second party:mad: )
The issue is you they can not be replaced anymore unless you find a cottage industry/racer who can make them, for crazy money.
I can become ill when I recall the stuff I left in the alley 60 years ago

TV Tommy Ivo explained that his work in weld shop cl*** was a scary fail.
He adopted the policy of always paying a pro for work on his rides.

Don't worry, I welded it myself.

Use it or lose it. Skills you learned back in high school 40-50-60 years ago don’t come automatically when you get older. I took typing back then, never used it again until I got a computer some 20 years later, found out that knowledge was mostly gone, now, I’m the fastest three finger hunt and pecker you ever saw!:D
About the same with my welding, remember the basics, had to relearn how to implement them, still not a pimple on a welders **** but my **** holds! Sometimes my beads are pretty, sometimes ugly, but that’s what the grinder is for.

I too hate seeing cars/parts go to s****, but the reality is it takes time, space, money, and energy to save and store things. Holding onto something for the next guy just doesn't make sense. Especially if it keeps you from having the room for things you are interested in.
If you think it's a shame that 1951 Chrysler 4 door or pile of cast iron intakes is going to be s****ped, then save it yourself.

Man, that makes my welding look good.
I have learned how to grind out and reweld because I don't always (rarely?) get it right the first time.

One of the biggest problems on the internet is people complaining about things to people that can do nothing about it. The last thing in the world we need here is a thread dedicated to complaining. Lets get back to traditional hot rods and customs alright fellas??
