First off, cool build, what's the car weigh, is there any steel structure to the body or is it all wood, canvas ,dope.

With such a low vehicle weight you're gonna need to get a spring built or try some things to get a ride you like.

Reverse the eyes will get you started, tune it with the other springs from a multileaf pack.

The normal design is to make the main leaf from thinner material. The thinner material is more limber so the same deflection does not cause the higher stresses seen in the shorter springs. It is rare to find a broken main leaf.
As an aside, I have changed out a broken mono spring. It just snapped. You could see a place on the side where it started.

I used to sell a lot of them on the ch***is I built but after several failures I went to a super low multi leaf front spring for the last several years. I have started to offer the Posie dual flex, their 2 leaf version of the mono leaf. So far so good!

I did a comparison rate check also. Came to the same conclusion The Mono-leaf was way stiff. I had the pivoting front perches and hi quality shocks. Some that say they ride well, I believe never tried lighter springs. My 1st 32 I had a mono-leaf and 250lb. rear coil overs. I kept trying lighter springs and everything got better. Took a man for a ride that had a 34, went over RR tracks. He said his car he would of been off the ceiling. One spring does not fit all. There is improvements to be made.
