Hello all; I have a basically stock 41 Ford that I want to lower without going to a parallel leaf system in the rear or a dropped axle in the front. I talked to a dealer for mono springs who told me that they can lower a stock vehicle 4" with a good handling and ride. My question is: Can one spring offer as much support as a stock spring with 6 or 7 leaves? They are pricey and before I order one, I like to NOT get a salesman's view but rather someone who has tried one of these. Thanks in advance for your feedback
A lot of guys swear by them. I have driven them and they feel OK. I personally prefer multi leaf springs. A stock spring can be de-arched or reversed for less money, and if you polish and deburr them while they are apart you can improve the ride immensely. But a good mono leaf will work too. If you go mono leaf do not cheap out by a good name brand that is a proven product.
I have always run a Mono on the front of my Center Door, also used a Mono on the front of the "T" Coupe I built, never had any problems, I would say what has been said previously buy a good brand.
