So anybody get anything good? I ran into a few hambers, not many though. Ended up with a tunnel ram intake and a bunch of hop up parts for my SBC. My buddy JJ bought a 3 foot long connecting rod. Long but awesome day!
Well on friday I picked up an old dash from a hot rod, it was filled with a bell auto pressure pump, and 1940's SW's it had an 8k script tach and a 140 speedo, and 3 curved glass wings guages for $40, id say i did good best of all the guy waived me down sat and gave me the missing gauge for it, a 56 or 57 temp guage too. On sat i got a chrome hemi canister oil filter for $20, and a tube axle for my plymouth with fresh brakes. Best of all, i even had enough money left over to eat most of this week!!
I got an old POS guitar for the barn wall, an oil container with adjustable spout from Moses and some vintage 18" wide Bug Eye sprite seats. At least thats what I was told they were.
I had to work Saturday so Left Friday AM, got to the meet, walked around for a couple hours then drove back home! It was a long day! I got a full set of 33/34 Ford pickup fenders for CHEAP and they are very nice! Picked up an F-1 crossmember for 20.00 and some other nick-nacks. My Brother was the one who scored getting a complete 32 front end with 42-48 spindles for VERY CHEAP, and a nice re-cored 30/31 radiator for his roadster for 50.00!!!!
Oh, i was standing next to your brother when i got that radiator i think, my dad was buying some offy heads. I guess that guy was Orcus Tow that he bought if offa
Yea they look saveable and had the weird 45degree inlets so he's gunna toss 'em on his '49, i was the longhaired 25 yr old standing there, i reconised one of you 2 probably from hotrodarama or mabey some show on here. I remembered it because if he hadnt bought that radiator i woulda been all over it
Picked up a Duece Grill shell & insert from hammered coupe. He also delivered my SBC Tri-power set up. Thanks Tim!!!
Oh yeah, I do remember you! I'm glad my Brother got that radiator...his roadster leaks really bad and he's been hunting for one!
If it works cool, if not pass it on, it was only gunna get screwed up around my shop. i didnt realize you had as hot of a motor as you did though, so it might be a little small
I think we all need name tags or some kind of secret patch, hey maybe a HAMB patch! Small world guys, good to meet you Shaggy, hope that rad works out for your brother Chris. See you in the spring.
You don't know about the secret HAMB Hand shake? It was happening all over the swap meet. I'm sure you saw something strange going on with all the Handshakes. Shaggy, Moses ,KMember , and all the north enders know about this. We all know it and we can see who has it without even the Secret shake. You start learning the clues once you have taken on the power of the HAMB Handshake a few dozen times. The HAMB is watching!!!!!
We will have to get our secret society together and see if there is room for more people to achieve the "HAMBSHAKE"! Each new person that knows it, takes a bit of power from the rest of us. You have to be worthy!!!
those are only the ones on stands. There are 2 more motors in the back, a 230 mopar and a 351 ford, then off the the right is whats left of my race flatty, then in the barn is the stock motor from the nash, a 302 jimmy, so thats still only 9. DAMN! What about motors in cars? Do they count?
That's what I'm talking about. I'm jealous as I had a huge purge a few years back and I haven't recovered...
Hmmmmm not quite. Theres still a ton of floor space. I was like that when I was your age but then shit hit the fan. No more floor space or wall space, 10 cars all in buildings with more shit thats at the Monroe swap meet on a Sunday and I'm looking for more. I build more buildings to store more shit!!Give yourself another 30 years and you may have the stuff/treasures/crap that us seasoned veterans have. None of this has to do with the Secret Hambshake though. LOL! <!-- / message -->
None of those engine's are painted gold. I only buy gold engines.....You know, cause I'm a gold chainer...
Hey Steve FYI I pulled a 24 hour session in the shop to get to Hotrodarama then had the gonads to jump in and drive to Tacoma as my first test drive, so I had a few teething problems HAHA No seats only brake lights, charging and ignition wired and the body still in bare metal and I got caught in the rain on the way home that makes more of a HAMB guy than a gay handshake
You obviously missed the parts about this thread being close to 5 years old and he was 80+ years old and and cleaning out then.....
