MAn I was so excited I Made it home just in time to see the Monster Garage build off of the Model A Sedan. I thought it turned out pretty sweet. What did yall think.
I think that I'll fake a heart attack, yeah, that will be funny... Was it just editing, or is that guy really a huge ass?
I liked it !!! Jesse should have put a air hose up his butt when he did that !!! But its just a movie !!!
What did yall think.
I thought the show was a complete piece of crap. This reality TV "stuff" is for pussies! Why can't they just concentrate on building the car. Staging a fake heart attack to see how many guys are going to watch the guy croak isn't entertainment, it's SICK! I dislike "OverHaulin'" with that skinny diversion, "needs a boob job", Courtney, but at least technically they do a little better job telling ya' what and why they're doing it.
I was really disappointed. They could have shown so much more if they just cut out the BS. I really wanted to see Dave Simard and the other guys do some stuff, instead they stuck Jesse's ugly mug in every shot. They didn't show them puting the floor, assembling the brakes, steering, front end. The car just seemed to magically come together. I thought the belly tank build was a much better show.

I liked the show about as much as I disliked it. The idea/concept were right on, but they gotta make good TV, and that's where the drama comes in. Fuck that old guy, even if the editing made him out to be more of an ass thatn he was. What he did was childish and in my opinion was taken too lightly at that shop. Of course, for us REAL car guys, who don't watch these shows for the drama and filler BS, I'm sure everyone would have liked to see more of the actual build. I was really hoping to see some killer metal fabrication, but all I saw was a simple chopped top. They talked about "a Monster Garage First" body channel, but they showed not a single second of what method they used. I don't care how much they spent on the build. $36k? Who cares, they fuckin paid $16,000 for that car, which is a waste of money if you're going to strip it down to only a few remaining pieces. Any one of us HAMBers could have sourced a decent bare shell of a Tudor Sedan for a few hundred, and a stock frame for a six pack. That basically eliminates the $16,000 they spent, because that's all they used from the original running & driving car. Anyways, I liked it, but hated it...and it's too early for me to rant any longer, I need some caffiene.
I woulda kicked that a-holes teeth thru his head. The car is still bad ass. I think burnouts make for good tv. But I do agree that they needed to show more of the build. Really what did they show? Disassembly, a chop, an idiot not knowing what he's doing with anything and a finished hot rod.....just my opinion. No wait, that's what they showed.

What a babe !!! That voice, those long legs, that smile... Jeesus!! Throw cold water on me !!

I missed it!,,,but I don't like the friggin' Drama(fake heart attack) What about the car?,,,was it cool? or another POS like the other crap,,,,trash truck, lawncutin' mustang BS HRP
The show was decent. It beat the hell out of his usual building a snow blower out of a fucking Limosine bullshit. You wanna impress us, build a Limo out of a snow blower. Anyone can take a useful item and turn it into a useless piece of shit. And that seems to be the basis of most of his shows. I usually watch 5 minutes, and if it's the usual bullshit i give him the GONG. Hell, i'd be a millionaire by now with all the useless shit around my place. GROUCHO JAMES! Show "ME" the money!!!!
why would a person continue to watch these shows if they are so crappy? too much complaining around here... if you haven't noticed, tv doesn't have much to offer us anymore, the alternative to these 'crap' shows is a lot worse. maybe you would be happier watching those american idol fuckers or some desperate housewives, huh? just enjoy it for what it is. think of it as a REALLY watered down version of the MFS videos... tred.
I was in the garage! tivo'd it and watched the whole show in about 10 min! Nice looking chop, did'nt care for the stance of the car, and the seat was ok?
I was amazed with how much money they threw at his car. I guess if I put 10 times more money in my car and faked drama I could be on TV too. The only funny thing about shows like this is when John Q. Public sees how much money Jesse puts into these things, they think I must be a real high roller to afford something like that. Then Mr. Goldchainer is thinking how could Jesse put $36K into a Hot Rod and not have any billet or paint? The car itself looked good except the engine (should've been a flatty), but the custom Chevy episode was much better showing the work and the car had a better look. Andy
mmm courtney hansen! I thought that the car was cool when it was done. I thought that guy who was working there a was fucking TERD. But then again, anytime media has a show, there must be DRAMA!!!!! if anything, it just means more people will call people "jesse james" now when they see you driving a Tudor. They will be like "hey you build that because you saw it on tv." and you can say "No, i fucking built it first, you terd"
HRP, You didn't miss nothing. I wasted 60 minutes of my precious life watching them screw up a perfectly good '29 2-sr sedan. They could've taken a junkyard POS and accomplished the same thing. They used a torch to take the fenders (nice ones) and bumpers off. No tellin' what else on this car they disrespected tearing it apart! But that's TV. The finished product looked out of porportion. The chop was real nice and was the best part of the program. It was the only thing that was shown in any detail. The stance of the finished car was too low in the back and it had some goofy lookin' radiator and grill on it that set too far forward. The cost of this abortion was $36K. I wonder if that included the cost to have that group called "Wantabe a Band" perform? My time would've been better spent watchin' the History Channel, a Law and Order rerun, going to bed early or even 60 non-stop minutes of the weather channel!!
did anyone tape it?? I would like to see what I missed because I fell asleep.. If so let me know or PM me..
I watch Overhaulin BECAUSE of Courtney!!!! What a babe !!! That voice, those long legs, that smile... Jeesus!! Throw cold water on me !!
I'll take Jessi on Extreme 4X4. Looks good and she can weld or do anything else in the shop. I've got a thing for women who don't bring you a screwdriver when you ask for the 9/16".
you know me and my pops were watching the hot rod build off with jimmy shine and some other dude this weekend. just gotta say jimmy shine is a bad ass builder! but we were saying that it would be killer if these new "hot rod" shows and "biker" shows would cut the crap and just get down to building. i think it would be so much better if we got rid of the "reality show" and Dr. phil crap and focus on building and fabricating! correct me if i'm wrong but didn't they start out that way? _T
The show was pretty shitty, I like Simard though he's a good guy. As far as the car they used it seemed a bit insane, that car would be a perfect car to build a copy of the Chrisman brothers A Sedan where the hood and fenders would have been used, I saw the car they used in person and the body and fenders were perfect, I'm always one for cuttin stuff up but this was a waste of a near mint unrestored car, I suppose the whole idea of that car being used was the origianl paint on it.
I watched it last night and I agree they didn't have to butcher that mint car. Why didn't they start with a glass body on a TCI frame? I've come to the conclusion that all those buld-up shows are for the guy who never turns a wrench. Not once did I see anything about "Z"ing the frame. All that was said was we'll kick the frame to lower the body, not, will be "Z"ing the frame and dropping it (X) inches and the angle of the Z will be (X) degrees. I think what I'm saying is there is no this and that only try and keep up cus we're haulin ass through this thing.IMHO
My two cents, I wasn't what it could have/should have been but it was alot better than all the other shit on TV. Plus it got the wife to quit watching Discovery Health for a few minutes. Drew
