nice ride! those are ems rockers, thanks for using our stuff, check us out at www.emsautomotive.com the ems guy
Now you've done it! I have a very nice '51 club coupe that I used to love. After this, every time I look at it, I think "That thing don't look right; it should be sectioned!". To me, a sectioned un-chopped shoebox (especially a coupe) looks just right! Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen a sectioned sedan.
Love it. Have an old R&C magazine article where they did similar. Lots of work however the results speak for themselves
TUBMAN: The truth is that my son and I cut the car and tacked it back together again in 8 DAYS....(not to ignore that I am still working on other details 2 seasons later!) It is very scairy to slice up a nice car, but if you take enough time to plan it out, gather up the right tools and help, the surgery will go pretty quick.. Check out our early reports on this project. Best of luck with your "box". Russ V.
Russ, Truth be told, my car (sacrilige I know) is too nice for me to consider cutting up. It was a 70K mile survivor when I got it 28 years ago and has all the original factory and dealership paperwork, so I think it should be preserved as is. That being said, I'll never look at it the same way again. You guys did a beautiful job which I really appreciate. BTW, have you ever seen a non-coupe shoebox sectioned? I think a tudor would look strange.
What you choose to do with your car is totally up to you and should not have to be defended in any way. Here is a couple of pics of a woody wagon that my son and I cut up a few years ago. It went from my shop to the woodsmith in Miami for final work.
