I have seen these springs referenced as a taller replacement for the Aerostar CC850 springs. I see that they have an installed height 1 1/4" taller than the 850's, which is what I need. The Fatman dropped spindles and the Aerostar springs have my 55 too low for driving. I see that the rate on the 851 is about 25% lower and the load is about 30% less than the 850. Does anyone have any experience with these springs?

I can't help you with the CC851 spring, but I have the same situation/parts you have and I need a little lift in the front. I'll be watching and hoping to learn something. Thanks for doing the research.

Unfortunately I already have the 7/8" thick ones. Well changing springs showed me to be wrong about which ones I had. I had have the 9.6108 which only raise it 5/16". I will use them with th CC851's also. I hope to gain the 1 1/4" of height over the 850's. I will post results.

I was going to use the CC851 springs in my '59, they're probably a better all around better spring than the CC850 with a softer spring rate, but still above stock. I'm using stock springs minus 1 coil so I'm happy for now.
