Does anybody know if you can pay at the gate and enter a car in the show? Not getting any help from IG or FB...
online ticket sales says everything for show is already sold out. only spectator tickets available. limited parking - expect to do some walking.
Yep if you go on their website you can't buy tickets at all at the gate no matter what. You have to go through the website to the foat and buy your tickets. Even if they say they're not available you can keep refreshing and people do sell their tickets back
Bob sometimes if you roll up they kind of allow some to pay. Depends on space even people with paid car entry are turned away if it's full somehow, which is annoying and part of why I was protesting buying a car entry. A lot late arriving old cars will just park in the lot. Remember you're locked in until about three anyhow. There's always a small show in the parking lot anyways. I'll be doing the same just bringing the wagon parking in general. I don't need to get up at the butt crack of dawn to power park
Yep it kind of sucks that they'll oversell the tickets for the car show and if it's full you have to wait for someone to leave or something
I prepaid and got in early, by 11am people were walking a half a mile to get in and the road was gridlocked both ways
It was pretty much gridlocked at 9:30. I turned around, went home and got stuff done on my buddy’s car.
We got to the intersection of Arrow Highway and Live Oak at 9:00am. Got to the person taking pre-paid tickets at 10:40am. No traffic control at all. Sat in line watching groups of Harleys cutting ahead of people who waited through that clusterf*ck at the intersection for 1-2 hours. Once we got in, we were packed in like sardines. The drag racing was pretty good, but the rest of it was mostly just trying to navigate through the packed-in crowds. Mooneyes clearly oversold tickets. And the part of the advertisement for the show that said “no colors” was clearly ignored. We’ve been coming to this show for over ten years. This was our last time, we’re not coming back again. The Nitro Revival was way better organized.
Been waiting for someone to post this…Their going to need a bigger venue. I guessing many were parked at OH-Dark-Thirty in line.
I got to the gate about 7:30 and was in in about 10 minutes. There was nobody helping you park or telling you which way to go so I ended up parking in the pits with the race cars. The show was packed and I would say most of the cars were lowriders or bombs. If my friend didn't get me a ticket I probably wouldn't have gone and I probably won't go back, we'll see
My friend who lives nearby told me that the Mooneyes show has had more and more lowriders each year, and that it seems to be evolving away from hot rods. The Nitro Revival events at Irwindale bring out more hot rods. I haven’t been to either since I moved up north.
There is about 80% very much the Pomona Swap Lowrider tailgate party as per usual. I thought about the same thing- "No Colors" but that really went out the window. The traffic control didnt exist. I did see some people rolling cars for the show in if they were about to idle for 1-1/2 in traffic. I said it on the other post, may jsut have a small show at the remote parking lot? I dont even know if you had to pay for that one also. Well there is always GNRS next week.
