    I'll be there in spirit.
I think the netherworld is the furthest so far.

we are coming in from LAX
mooneyes should realize that the artist's are a big part of what made the show what it is.

We're just coming from the SF valley, not far at all...but we have friends coming from Switzerland for the show.
    See everyone there!

Damn Coop....... I am going to miss my annual hug from your better half!......tell her if you guys come I'll paint her shoes for her again........
I'm going to play Devil's advocate here a little........I don't think it was ever intended to be a money thing.....not that I know that Moon is objecting to that fact or anything, but it was the scene that made this show too big.....I don't know if there's anyway to 'go back home', but I heartily miss the old days when the ART was the main draw........It has gone from people waiting to see what you pulled out of the trunk to see if they could get first dibs on an original piece, to stroller pushing, semi tattooed scenesters who don't even look you in the eye while they rifle through your just folded t shirt display without the intention of even considering buying something......they just think it's their right because they are gracing a vendor with their presence........
all my *****ing aside, I'm going to try it one more year...... there are some folks who still care about the art......I'm not in with any cool California galleries, so this is my only chance at a California audience.........I'll take a swapmeet style table over a fancy overpriced gallery anyday anyways.......unless Coop can drop my name and make me feel important......
    See y'all at the strip.......Dennis

I agree that it was more fun when it was smaller and a little more casual, but I guess you can't argue with success. I think it was a mistake to start letting in so many vendors, when the original idea was for it to be only artists, stripers, and painters selling their stuff. On the plus side, my wife gets all stressed out getting everything ready for the show every year, so I won't have to deal with the fallout from that.

I'm just disappointed more than anything, though I will enjoy being able to sleep in late that morning. Maybe I'll go as a spectator this year, for the first time!

Dennis, why aren't you set up with some gallery out here? Seems like you should be able to hook that up. You do much better stuff than a lot of what I see hanging on white walls around these parts...

We'll be coming in from Orange County, not too far away, so no hotel necessary. I haven't gone in the last couple of years. I enjoyed it when it was at their shop in Santa Fe Springs or the Elks Lodge parking lot. Seems to have gotten pretty big now.

One reason I would go would be the Artists. Like MacPhail said, it's the only time you get to see these artists in person (Who;s not from Calif.). And McPhail is my favorite, if I had to choose any current artist. Last year was just so chaotic that I really didn't even notice the artist, it was everything but...I'll save my dough and buy something from Dennis and say hello (Since this may be his last time for Mooneyes). And, Yes! Dennis should have some kinda of showing here in SoCal, it's a shame.

I agree. Dennis, I saw some pieces of yours at Coby' pad and I believe you would do very well in the L.A-SoCal area selling. Someone has to fill the void now that Franco is a rebel flag bearing Texan now. hehe j/k!!! All you Beatniks share the same quality, your art kicks ***!!!! KNUX!

  11. YIKES, I've been jacked! SONOFA*****. I'm gone 2 days and come back to see m*** hijacking. Funny, but maybe 2% answerd the question this thread posed. Anyway, to you gripers? In Mooneyes defense a few things come to mind. Who knew it would grow to these proportions? But since it did, Mooneyes got us a bigger place instead of squashing the deal. AND ADDED DRAG RACING! The new place costs more money, so maybe someone's gotta pay. My opinion is that they should have their policy like the last 2 locations. If you're not there to be part of the deal with an old car, they shouldn't cater a parking area to you. You're on your own like the other places. I was in line last year with about A HUNDRED CARS, and only 3 were old cars or hot rods. ********. Anyway, Mooneyes is the only one to give us a years end X-Mas party of this caliber (and getting bigger/better). So, as long as I keep having a blast each time, I'm in!!!!!!!

I'm driving in from Kansas in the late model truck to haul all the goodies......and I seriously doubt that this will be the last year for me........I have no beef with Mooneyes making the show bigger, the dragstrip is actually pretty cool, I was merely lamenting on the good old days........It just seemed more like an inside deal when it was just the artists out in the parking lot........

I'm not familiar with the area, is there a good hotel to stay in???
Also, are they still taking in registrations??? I have mine filled out, just don't know if it's too late to fax.... Also the waiting last year that everyone has talked about, was the wait for people who had registered their vehicles, or was it for folks who didn't???

  15. This is the FIRST time they are doing pre-registered cars. Last years cluster **** was a result in the incredible growth of the show that was unexpected. Call Mooneyes, they have a "host" hotel nearby I believe. I'm sure it's not too late to send your reg.in. By nature, most people wait for the last minute to register. Or they roll the dice and pay at the gate.

  17. It must be great to be young! Get up at 5-6 and do a 10 hour day at Mooneyes, drive an hour to Riverside, get a load on, and drive 2 hours home at the end of the night. I miss those days, but they're behind my old *** for sure. But, I appreciate the invite. You and Goozgaz. I just might make the Gooz one though being a couple minutes from Moon's deal

I thought there was just the one restroom building, but a friend of mine said they had plenty of restrooms on the other side of the race track and nobody knew about them. I think I spent a good 3rd of the time at the show in line for the restroom.

Last year I got there early and had no problem with the line and pissed without any problem. hope this year everyone will hear about it here and find out what a great show it was and how they should have been there....I can hope cant I

  22. I'm just wondering, with all this commotion, if it's even worth going anymore. I frankly, hated last year, it was "not" one of Socal's best gatherings.
