Hey Rick, big thanks for the ticket hookup! Got in line just before 5am and was parked waaaaay down the street. Not a bad thing though as seeing all the bad*** cars arriving after me was worth showing up early. That was a show in and of itself. Mooneyes and Irwindale did an incredible job of getting everyone in quickly and in a very organized fashion. Parking was pretty much a self serve deal which i liked. It looked like all the clubs marked their turf early and got to hang out with one another which is always great to see. By Cali terms it was freezing cold. The weather played nice for a while with a few very light showers. But the skies opened up enough for me to tap out and call it a day. It looked like most of the crowd wasn't ready to throw in the towel and the live band carried on. I saw a few old friends and met a few new ones. Very friendly crowd from what I saw. This show has been on my list for a while and i plan on doing it again. Next time travelling with or meeting up with a few people and bringing my own food and beverage supply. No deals to be had in that department! I took a few pics which I'll load up later. NAES....chillin' at Starbucks trying to warm up a bit before rolling out for home!
Hey Sean, glad you made it. I left my house at 3:30, just to give my Pontiac a run. I hadn't driven it since the Ventura Nationals. I drove by Irwindale around 4:30, then headed home. Ruby's in Redondo Beach had a Xmas Show but it got canceled till next Saturday. By 6 am, the wife and I headed out for breakfast and it began to pour. I tried watching Bangshift's live feed at 9 am, but after an hour of them yakking and not showing the cars or crowds, I gave up.
The pics I grabbed nevus the rain. .. https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/117143509584122557025/albums/5954849071867788609
Thanks for the pics, 777mycoolangelo and Flattop Rook. Too bad about the rain, that's never any fun. I see this east coast survivor is now out west. Good to see it being used.
Haha man the wifey and I saw a group of 12-15 people walking up and down the rows looking at cars using a EZ up as an umbrella. That was cool. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Here's a few gems that I spotted. So many more kick*** cars. My car juices are definitely flowing again with so much inspiration out there!
POV for the ride home. Yeah, that wasn't sketchy! Link to all the pics http://s52.photobucket.com/user/sou...ry/Cars/Mooneyes Christmas 2013?sort=3&page=1
45mph on the freeway, white knuckles, wiping the condensation off the windshield and the other windows cracked for a little circulation. Good times!!
I enjoyed taking the pics, I was like a kid in a lollie shop Ill take more at the next car events I go to when I return to Melbourne Australia. Your trip home certainly looked nerve wracking Naes, the saturated rag on the dash and your breathe condensing on the Window!
