Mopar guys, I need help tuning a 340.

    I agree totally on switching to
    a conventional, either stock or
    aftermarket 180 degree intake
    and on the phenolic spacer too.
    Just be sure to use a proper,
    4-hole spacer, as opposed to one
    of the more common open ones.
    or you will more or less defeat
    and undo the purpose of using a
    180 degree intake. Indecently the
    engine can uses a slightly larger
    carb with a 4-hole spacer too.
    I'm not a fan of the newer Holley
    so-called "Street Avenger" type
    carbs, If you want a Holley, I'd go
    with one of earlier Holley 'standards'
    like the tried and true List-1950 600
    cfm or List-3310 780 cfm vacuum
    secondary carbs - or if you can find
    a good core to rebuild, a 735 cfm
    vacuum secondary carb as used on
    some late '60's hi-per big block Fords
    works really good. Any of these Holley
    carbs though will need some tuning
    and playing with jets and power valves
    to get them to work properly.
