Looking for a little help in identifying which Mopar poly motor(s) match the valve cover with the coil bracket hanging off the p***enger side as shown. Thanks in advance. IMG_8115.jpeg

In the alternative, can anyone confirm whether this style of valve cover was used on the 1957 Plymouth V800?

I've not seen any with that bracket. However, there are a lot of members here that are more informed on the pre 60's Polys than I am.

I know a little mopar, but not up on that era. I look at it as why did they bother with a new solution when they already had all the space on the intake and previous brackets already in production.
Since it's in the middle of the valve cover, it wouldn't be a cross ram intake, which are later anyway.
Maybe a cab over or something where the typical hood and clearance was different.

However, both bolts look smaller/lighter than the typical coil mount brackets. Could it be a heater hose bracket? I wouldn't want the coil directly above the exhaust.
Lots of pics here. There are other pages on the site. You might find the answer there.

For a few years, the poly was available with inline dual quads, it would have made sense to add a bracket to hold the coil on those. The bolts to hold the coil on the brackets were 5/16" bolts (1/2" wrench on the nuts).
The poly exhaust manifolds were way below the valve covers, there shouldn't have been too big of a problem with heat for the coil hanging 4" - 5" above those exhaust manifolds.
A bracket like that would have been useful for support of AC hoses, or heater hoses on a big truck, though it would have probably been overkill for the heater hoses.

@gene-koning that dual quad thing is answered in the link. Here's the picture.
If anything, a coil out there would impede servicing the filter. I don't see the coil, though.

Here's a coil bracket on a marine engine. Same location on 2 bbl and single 4bbl intake shown on another page. They only show 2 different stock valve covers on the site, although this picture page shows different spark plug loom tabs.

Thanks guys. The studs pressed into the bracket are 2.75 inches on center and are 1/4 inch fine threads, not too far off what I see on the bosses cast into the 2bbl and 4bbl intakes for this year. In this picture, you can see the coil nestled into the valley between the rear carb and the cover, clearly not relying on a bracket off the valve cover: IMG_0751.jpeg

In this picture, consistent with the one in the previous post, the coil looks be bracketed off of the intake manifold bolts. IMG_0756.jpeg

This is the only picture I’ve been able to find utilizing the valve cover bracket. I have less confidence in the provenance of this considering the valve covers and side saddle air cleaners would have been painted gold from the factory.
Again, thanks for all the input. I’ve scored some decent correct air cleaners and am trying to get this as close to original as possible. IMG_0757.jpeg

Was that maybe a bracket for the p***enger side air filter can?

My other thought was if that yellow color was original, maybe it was industrial?

Dave: i didn’t think of the Industrial possibility. That makes a lot of sense given the wide variety of applications for those motors.

Sorry I couldn't give you a solid answer.
That Silver engine looks like an Aerosol Overhaul. Gen adjuster brackets are Black.
