Mopar Power Flite Question....??

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Cadillacin Marcus, Feb 12, 2004.

  1. Anyone here familiar with the Powerflite transmission from a 1956 dodge? The transmission goes into gear you drive it and then it slips and pops into high gear..Is there a band adjutment that can be made??

Nope, sounds like you need to check throttle linkage adjustment first. There are band adjustments, but not for this problem. Call if you need more help. (877)737-4438 during business hrs. Dave

I agree, throttle linkage. Also check your fluid level. Mine shifts funny when it gets low. I'm having a problem with my dynaflow. I can't get it to shift at all!! [IMG]

Machinos, give me a call. Toll free# (877)737-4438. If youre not in a big hurry, we are gonna do a "hands on" tranny class just for HAMBers this spring. You would be able to actually rebuild yor own tranny w/ the help of my crew.Just a thought. Dave

Sure, I could wait that long. The only thing wrong with it is that it leaks like crazy, but I've got the full rebuild kit except bands anyway.

I havent really set the date yet, its kinda up to the guys that are coming. We are leaning towards the end of April-first part of May. I will be opening the shop, including hoists for the guys that want to bring complete cars. You can also just bring your trannys. Should be a good time. I'm open for suggestions as for the date. Dave
