More 302 trouble

    If the cam is wiped out, why not just change the cam? It is not that tough with the car apart like that. Flush the engine really good though.
    On break-in, use more additive than they say and run old valve springs. Change springs after a few hundred miles.
    Stuff like this can ruin your enthusiasm quick.

    Does ford use a cam*****on for the fuel pump

    Thanks for all the info guys. The engine only has 3000 miles on it. Have you ever felt like an engine just didn't want to be yours? Well that's how I feel, every 50 miles it's a different issue. I'm done with this long block. Will have the new one in next week.

    So here was the issue. The guy that originally built my 302 installed the connecting rods wrong. It's amazing that I got 3000 miles out of it. It ruined the cam, lifters, rocker arms and rods.

    WoW...All that.... Glad your makin headway, or made headway. I was wondering....

    Is the engine builder makin good on his mess up?

    Nah, I live in a different state now. I ditched the whole long block and found a good deal on a roller.
