Alright gang, let's see some pics of your tightly budgeted Rods or Customs. Let's put the price cap at, say, $10K (including the price paid for the car initially) and see what comes up? I'm a broke-*** mother-scratcher too!!! Whatcha got??? Post them pics! Thanks...

lowered, cleaned up, still running the 4 banger hopped up to modern standards with a new carb, simple but stylish.

N I was about $7500 +/- into this when the pic was taken. Being redone now.

  7. I've posted before on my '50 Fleetline. If I wanted to have it really decent and presentable, it could still be done for around $2500 - including a T5 and open drive. If you search, there was a thread a month ago all about how cheap you could get a car going for.

I'm betting this A pickup can be done for around the same money, the expensive part is going to be setting up a manual trans in it.

built this norton for less than 4500

but i had to build the custom frame myself, I also added juice brakes and upgraded the electrical, etc.

but if I kept track of my labor hours and factored that price in (Just unfortunatley as people do when they sell their cars *I believe the labor of love should not be factored into pricing of customs* then it would have cost much more.

I ***ume you're talking about a 32' Ford. If you can pull off building a 32' coupe for under $10 grand, you will be my hero. Haha :D.

yeah, I myself am thinking i'll have to build a *****in t-bucket, they are alot cheaper. the model A's are even out of my price range, forget the 32........ that's like, impossible to me...

  13. Man they'll be a money pit if you let them. I have over $20,000 in my 53 right now but if I were to sell it, I doubt I could get what I paid for it to ****in begin with!

I could definately still learn a few lessons from the penny pinchers.

I've gathered a pile of parts, just shy of enough to build a running car and i'm somewhere between 7-8 grand.....and it's a steel 32 5 window (see avitar)..
She's rough, but i bought the body about 4 or so years ago for 3000...and that includes the cost of the 409 that will be powering it too..

The amount i have invested in my 53 chevy custom right now i think is under 10K..without a finished interior or fresh chrome on the bumpers..
I havn't added up any of my reciepts...i hate doing that Haha

less than 2 g's in the 57, and probaly round 4g's in the 55 f100 just guessing, 55 needs paint and minor interior, 57 needs lots of bodywork, paint and headliner, carpet and front seat re-sewn , i plan on painting them myself, so it wont be too bad price wise.

im just finishing my 31 coupe and i have about 8k in it total, i've been meaning to get some updated pictures of it but i cant find the charger for my camera, heres a shot from a few weeks ago

time is money, its hard to put a price on time, the 8k is just the cost of the car and parts. knowing how much time i have in my car to date, i cant imagine how much it would have cost me to have it done, probably at least 3 times as much. same story with all of the cars on this post. this car could not have been built so inexspensively without the knowledge that is available to me on the hamb though, and thats a fact

    RoadRat Eddie -

Very cool color/decal scheme on your ride. Is it actually painted? Are there exposed rivets everywhere? Love it.
