This will go good with the fake tatoos that wash off. Looks almost as silly as the fake pan head covers for a evo harley.

Yeah the other stuff is cool, but these just made me laugh. Made me think of the fake hemi covers for SBC...

I'm fairly sure Yorgy is right.
There was a similar item - and this could be it - kicking around out there years ago.

Only fair I suppose, specially when you consider the $800. (approx 1995 price) kit to make the SBC look like a Flathead.

All this disguise stuff makes me wonder what people are ashamed of.
I guess I don't understand, but covering up honest mechanical items with a bent piece of sheet metal is a long way from cool in my book.... [IMG]

11. Do they have a "Heartbeat of America" version? I'm doing a traditional "Dale Earnhardt #3" inspired lakes roadster, with matching traditional stuffed animal trailer, and these would really look great on the disguised traditional flathead SBC engine.

Also, does K&N make bowtie-shaped air filters that will fit on a fake flathead TPI?

Geezzzz....guys whats wrong with those? [IMG]
Other than that stupid "Powered by Ford" script, they look good to me!
I don't see them in the same light as those dumb sheet metal "HEMI" coverups or the fake SBC valve cover trick thats meant to fool you at all!
Those things don't claim to be anything they aren't...well, the SELLER himself used a HEMI/ARDUN reference...but the covers are just clean, cast aluminum eye candy...without claiming to be anything else!

Not accepting those is like saying that HUBCAPS are fake and uncool because they hide a perfectly acceptable steel wheel!!!

I'd run them in a "Heartbeat"!!! (Pun intended!) [IMG]

I agree with HackerBill. I wouldn't mind having them, I am building a Merc flatty, and all I have is a 2 deuce intake and stock heads, those might just help the looks of the engine without springing $450 for a new set of heads. I guess each to their own, but I think they are pretty cool.(except for the powered by Ford logo!)

items for sale. Polished for $425 and unpolished $275.

These were originallly made in New Zealand in the sixties by Berry and Chung speed equipment. They made all sorts of early speed gear. Mag wheels, intakes, rocker covers. These were made in a era when an OHV V8 of any sort was a rare and expensive item down here. I posted a pic of these recently on another post. Graham Berry is one of the original Kiwi hot rodders and now makes Cobra replicas that he sells in America. A very talented man.

19. I like them. That's an inexpensive way to get finned heads on a flathead. Some of you guys need to lighten up. There was a cover made in the 50's to do the same thing. Dean

I just don't get it. Let your flatty be a flatty. If ya don't like it, run something else. Just cuz they were made "back in the day" doesn't make them a good idea.

But General...It IS still a flatty!!!
Just brightened up a little!
If those things said ARDUN or something I'd be on 'em like a rabid dog. They would be FAKE.
But those things are no different than running a "Skull" air cleaner or something!
I like them!
Hey..."to each his own" as they say!!! [IMG]

I guess it is kinda gay to put some finned valve covers where ugly stock steel ones were cause then it would not be a "TRAD" engine.

Is there a cover up out there to make my 2002 Dodge Ram look like a 32' 3 window?

I think they look cool, and no more 'fake' or 'gold chainy' than hubcaps, or chrome, or flake paint. If everything has to be single purpose and unadorned to be cool why does anybody ever bother polishing***** up or cherrying out bodywork with FAKE filler to try and pretend their steel work is genuinely flat, when we ALL know it isn't?

And while we're here, anybody got an air filter cover that can make my Rover/Buick 215 look and sound like a blown hemi [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

30. What's the problem? It's just a set of head covers. There are others who made head covers too. If you don't like'em, just don't buy 'em. Or grind off the Ford powered***** and carve "JOE COOL" or what ever you like to it.
