i think you are doin some chain yankin here. i will throw in my suggestion and for my carpel tunnels' sake hope your on the level. people give you grief because they get excited about helping you kick some guys *** with a motor you can be proud of and it turns out they're spining they're wheels. if you're serious then really find out what gear you're running, what manifold and are you even running headers so the darn thing can breathe w/ these heads you want to run. if you did have 4.11 's and a posi/limited slip then i would sure swap to small chamber heads like camel humps or? and it would raise your comp. to around 9.5. wouldn't go huge valves because your cam etc. wont support it. i would spend my money on a performer rpm manifold, cheap roller tip rockers and a pertronics or stinger set up for your distributor. good plug wires etc. couple steps colder plugs. spend a little time at the dragstrip tuning and launching the car. race there too and go 2 out of 3. dont be one of these street racing idiots. our grandchildren are out there for Gods' sake! vaya con Dios ....make us proud!

depending on your actual cam (duration/timing etc) you're probably looking at 350 hp around 5000-5500 and over 400 tq from 2500-4000. pretty respectable for the money. give these guys some info here so they can help you or they're flyin' blind. HEY! now my wrists are numb!

I would suggest (considering your extensive experience rebuilding engines) that you adapt a set of HP409 heads. That will automatically give you 425hp, and with the change left over (about minus $800) you can get a set of 5.38s for rear gears - it'll be a "Hauler par excellence", my man.

    Forget about expensive heads.

Just go with a good DEI system.

reminds me of this dope fiend that kept telling about a chrome steering box he had for my 54 panel and when i finally went to get it...it was from a plastic model kit!

Wow, that kind of reminds me of my 74 Maverick Inline 250 6 banger that had a vacuum advance AND a vacuum retard.
