I have been trying to find the trunk/hood ornaments for this car but can't find them anywhere. I have googled the Corvair and none of the others pictures that I see even have these trunk/hood ornaments. Does anyone know if these are stock or could they have been aftermarket items put on by a previous owner? I have attached two pictures. Thanks for any input!
my father had a 1960 Corvair, he had 9 of them from`60 to `66 ....i don't remember that hood ornament
Hey, No, they are not original. They look like the spears that are on the top of the front fenders on my '61 impala. Bill
theres a lady in our area that has a corvair made on July 10th, 1959!! First day of production!!Its all orig.!! Go to www.cruisinbruce.com & click on "memoboard" You'll see it there,Theres no hood emblems on it. She said its the 2nd oldest corvair registered in the US. JimV
http://www.corvair.org/ join these people and it will tell you eveything about everything corvair, no those are not original,
Those look like they're off a bigger, maybe even older Chevy. Corvairs didn't have hood ornaments. J.C. Whitney.....?
hello,i don't believe they are corvair spears, always been and collected corvairs, neve saw them, try asking "clarks corvairs",
Granted, this thread is from 2 years ago, so not sure if anyone cares anymore, but I'm fairly sure that those are '58 Chevy front fender trims.
No, thats the original emblem. Pulled many out of the box when creeping thru old Chevy dealerships. They are neat emblems, and would look neat just hanging on a wall or for decoration. I had a few for many many years and we couldn't sell them for shit until e-bay came along.
