Click on the cars on this site and each one is at project stage or finished. I have never seen so much info given on a website concerning all aspects of metal work paint and custom work. Chop City on some. Mind you... take Mylanta before going as Some are street rods some Customs. All in all... great information. Here's an example.. Be sure to hit the 39 ford. The work is really covered extensively. Link here... rod and custom
I saw on the caddy buildup that they used a rear window as a windshield. It seema like a good way to get some custom looking glass, but is that safe without it being laminated safety glass? -Bugman Jeff
[ QUOTE ] they used a rear window as a windshield... but is that safe without it being laminated safety glass? [/ QUOTE ] Chances are you would get away with it,BUT,it's not legal, and not safe in the event of a crash. A rock thrown from a truck tire on the freeway could shatter the glass right in your face. It would look cool for a Trailer Queen.
I think I remember reading they are going to have a new windsheild made, with laminated glass. alchemy
[ QUOTE ] Am I the only one that thinks what they did to that 39 Vert is a total*****ing travisty? [/ QUOTE ] when you look at what they started with - yeah it hurts.
I wonder if the owner thought he bought a frame off resto instead of a bunch of hidden rot? Goes to show you how well a car can look and still be far from perfect. Any guesses what the total $$ was? Maybe $45K for the initial car as starters? Now I wonder if I should practice on the other T coupe and lay back the windshield? Ive been thinking of making a faux roadster anyway.
