didnt get to drive it but rode in a $10-25million (depending on market conditions) Ferrari 250 GTO.

 

AAV(P/C/R)7A1 - 2.5 million. I'm not sure if the comm or recovery vehicle was more expensive though...

 

I got to ride in a General Lee when I was like 6 years old.

 

1967 GT 500 428 4 speed. With 13k on the clock..
A California spider kit. With the reall deal v-12 under the hood.
Got to sit in a Xj-13 jag one off reproduction.

Oh and The most expensive and having the most fire power. An Aegis cruiser CG-53. At 9600 tons it could do the standing 1/4 mile in 60 seconds and stop within one length of the ship.


Also a Fast frigate FFG-24.

Unregistered, no license....I was 14!! And, Boston traffic!! But, I lived to screw up another day.

 

Probably a '84 Ferrari 512BB, brand new in 1984...Got stuck in it after pulling it into my stall for some work...couldn't find the door handle to get out for like, 10 minutes...acted like I was doing something so I didn't look stupid...finally found the door release-a freakin' CABLE mind you, hidden inside the door pocket. Don't know what they cost then, but waymore'an I would ever pay for one...

I've driven alot of cool stuff but price tag wise it would be a Boeing KC-135

 

Back in the 60's while attending a local college I worked (hung out) at an upholstery shop in Kingston, PA that did restoration work for a Classic Collector / Dealer, Tiny Gould. Tiny brought in a Duesenburg that had been owned by Gary Cooper. All it needed was a little stitching up and cleaning of the upholstery. I got to drive that car up the street, turn it around and back to the shop. At that time it was worth about $100,000.I'll never forget that short ride.

 

Low mileage 1985 Porsche 911, and multiple brand new corvettes.

 

Yea, I pretty much insist you tell the story about getting arrested in the batmobile. That is INCREDIBLY cool.

Ever drive through a southern town with something that sounds like the General Lee, but looks like this?

 

1992 Lamborghini Diablo... it was my foot surgeons, he let me drive it a lil bit after I healed up. 16 years old...

 

Don't know about being worth a fortune but I drove a '70 Chevelle SS454 LS-6, a '70 Buick GS 455 Stage One and a '70 GTO Ram Air IV 4 speed Judge Convertible. They're all worth a "couple" bucks now.

 

Dollar wise If it still exists in the same condition today, Probably the 69 Trans Am ragtop that I did a front end alignment on in 1973 when it was already one of the most desirable 60's super cars out there.

 

I'm going to say the gullwing that I was involved in restoring in 88/89. Sold for $225,000.00 back then. Supposed to have been a New York World Fair car?

 

I have worked on and driven several 6 and 7 figure rides, but this is probably the most well known....

I'm totally bragging but I've worked with vintage/exotic/luxury cars off and on since I was fourteen. Some of the coolest back in the day we're the first production V12 E-Type as well as a NY Auto Show E-Type (can't remember what year), a FACTORY Hemi powered Facel-Vega, Nazi era Jaguar SS, if I remember right the only black hemi GTX ever made with a bench seat and four speed (and something else), sweet car. Lately would be a Maybach, Underground Racing twin turbo Gallardo, a couple of Bentleys, '09 Lingenfelter 'Vette, and just today a 700hp turbo M5 (told by the owner). Yes, again, I'm bragging and I L O V E my job! I have some pics if anyone cares.

 

I've driven tons of vetts, bmw,and mercedes. I used to work for a goodyear dealer so I put on many tires and test drove my share. My top was last year. I got a chance to drive a new zo6 of a freinds.Damn is that car fast,hit 120 in a block or two!

 

In 1968 I traded in my'67 VW fastback on a new Plymouth Road Runner. It was the first one the dealer received. Electric blue with 383 and 4 speed. The only option was a heater. Six months later I got out of the Navy and we moved back to Texas. The wife insisted on something with AC so we traded the RR for a new Valiant, 3 speed stick but had all of the other options.

The RR is probably a rusted out hulk now but it was a sweet ride.
