I just called to reserve my rooms for LSRU 2015 ON 04/16/2015 TO 04/192/2015. I was told that the new rate was 399.00 for ONE NIGHT. She said that is the rate for the Formula 1 race which is the same weekend. I can't find any confirmation on the internet about that being the date for the USGP. If this is true, it sure will hurt attendance at LSRU.

Anyone know if this is the correct dates for the LSRU & the USGP ???????

The 2015 F-1 season calendar has not been released yet, so whomever you were talking to is full of shit.

I agree with tikiwagon, the 2015 schedule has not been finalized. 23 circuits from around the world have applied with F1 to host a race in 2015. F1 is still in the process of narrowing down the season to 19 races. (They get 19 races per season) The US F1 (Austin, Circuit of The Americas) has typically been held in late October. It would be a shake-up to the F1 schedule to run the US that early in their season.

That would not be good to have the LSRU and F1 in Austin the same weekend. Yikes....no hotels, jacked up rates, and congestion like you wouldn't believe.

What a great place to live though, you get both F1 and the LSRU! Thats good livin'

I wonder if she could be talking about the MotoGP race instead of F1? The MotoGP race is in the middle of April usually, but the 2015 date hasn't been released. 2014's race was the second weekend in April, a week after the Roundup. The traffic would sure suck if they end up scheduling it for the same weekend as the Roundup. I would like to go to both though...

  7. And I was thinking that next year would be the year that I finally make it down there. Not if they're going to play games with hotel pricing.

Did anyone find any more about these prices or dates? Just for comparison I checked a Super 8 by the airport this morning and it was $294 a night for April 16th to 19th.

Boy where are you guys finding these rates? I just looked on Priceline.com and found plenty of places just over $100 per night

Austin motel only increases their rates by about 10-15%, but you have to be on the ball to book a room there. Keep an eye out for (I believe it's) Marcy's thread with discounted rooms at the Embassy Suites. I won't pay $300 a night for a room for the LSRU, and I won't attend if it's the same weekend as MotoGP. Austin rocks, and the LSRU is the only vacation I take religiously, but I draw the line with overpriced rooms and horrible traffic.

Bob the Super 8 I happened to check is right off 71 near ASS. I did more checking and found other hotels in the area with closer to "normal" pricing.
