ahh where would we be without dear old ma. lets see some pics and hear some stories of moms coolest car. i was in second grade me and my buddies were waiting in front of the school must have been around 1972, my mother pulls up in a maroon 67 impala jacked in the back with cragars all around. one kid yells out "your mom drives a hot rod !" i remember it felt good. her car a rambler had kicked the bucket my brother had given her his car as a replacement... a good son one of seven of us. i'll be seeing her today she's still driving at 83, now in a mercury sable. wish i had a pic of her and that chevy
I never got to see her coolest car. She had a '69 Mustang fastback. Big block car with a four-speed. She sold it because she was pregnant with me and the douchebag who knocked her up left town when he found out. We had a '71 Riviera through the 70's... I loved that car. In the early 80's she switched to Cadillac Fleetwoods... a new one every year (she had a new sugar-daddy by then)
The story I've always heard: My mom went into labor, and my dad had her car at work (64 Impala Wagon with a small block). Sooooo, she jumped into his freshly rebuilt 69 Olds 442 W-30 and headed to the hospital on her own. She couldn't drive a manual trans but she "figured it out" and hopped the car all the way to the ER. After I was born, and my dad put a new clutch in the Olds, it became her car, she never gave it back.
Here's my mom's coolest car. They bought it when they were expecting me. She'd always wanted one, and wrestled my sister and me in and out of car seats in the back seat when we were kids. We lost mom to cancer in 89, so I take care of the Barracuda now. Think i'll take it for a drive this afternoon..........................................
My mom does not really have a cool car "of her own" but here is a picture of her helping me polish on my '67 Cadillac DeVille yesterday And when I had my 89 Mustang LX 5.0, she did a WAYYYY bigger burn out in it than I ever did Probably because I knew I'd have to buy the tires if i burned them off. Probably because SHE knew that I'D have to buy tires if SHE burned them off too, haha.
Mom is currently driving a '87 Chevy 2 wheel drive, short wide bed truck. In the '80s she had a '69 Mustang w/ 351w 4 speed. She is 71 and still mows and tends garden.
