After seeing Nads post, and the fact that I need to get crackin on my pile of ****. I think some before and after pics could really help keep hearts up and wrenches turn. So let's have it.

Here are some pictures before and after. It is a 1940 Ford conv dug out of a swamp in Alabama. I think baby gators cut there teeth on it. It was then brought up to Missouri and set for a few years the owner figured he bit off more than he could chew. A friend of mine bought it. We had just finished building a his 40 Ford pickup. He asked if I was up to a new project I said sure and then this showed up. Open mouth insert foot.

It took from December of 1997 till July of 2002. We worked on it almost every night and days off. I bought a e-wheel kit from Right Angle Tool the first winter and started making the missing panels and headlite extensions. About 2000 we figured we would need to put louvers in the hood so we took a little time off to build a louver punch, there are 138 louvers in the hood and then about 40 in the inner fenders. The top was a nightmare. We bought a fibergl*** liftoff from a company out east they pretty much lied to us. When it did finally got here it didn't fit it was only 18"too short. So we had to fill in the blanks. The only things we didn't do was the interior and cut the gl***.

This is a great idea for a post. Motivation is always a problem. Not a better way to get more of it than before and after pics.

Woody's: It took parts from 5 different cabs to build this one...

Mine's gonna be kinda lame, but I'll share anyway. Still needs a taildragger stance, but the whole thing was done in 3 months, could have been 6 weeks if I would have kept on it

How about a before and "during"? The car is now flat black and back together with side trim, etc., but this is the most recent photo I have here at work. I've also changed the hubcaps and added running lights to the ends of the grille.

KoppaK, that's a sweet little custom you built from a homely little bug of a car. Very cool!
