I picked up an LS2 with a 4L60E and all the t*******s today! The motor is from a 2006 GTO that only had 1326 miles on when it was hit broadside and totaled. The motor was intended for a project that never happened and after sitting for four years, I ended up with it. That should give that '36 Ford a little scoot when I hit the throttle! Paul
Good luck with that. LS engines make awesome power and squeeze the fuel pretty good too. I can attest to all this. Make sure you leave enough room under the hood. I had to use a "big block" firewall and that left good clearance. The boys around here don't consider this too traditional...too many wires & such involved.
Good choice, just don't expect much love on HAMB! I've got an LS in my '51 Pontiac wagon, and am in the process of putting a 6.0 truck engine in my '48 Diamond T. Are you using the underhood harness from GM with the engine, or an aftermarket harness? LS tech is a great source of swap info if you're doing your own harness. Brian
Right, Lots of wires and no carb. Well, this is my first with a computer controlled engine. These engines can be awesome though. The harness and computer has been set up to go in an early car, in this case a '69 Camero. I'm told that all the **** you don't need has been turned off. I got this engine in such a hurry he is going to mail me the rest of the stuff. The harness with instruction sheet, the computer that's still at the programmer, and the engine covers. I might still have to get a throttle feed, and for sure a rear sump pan. He wanted the deal done quick, so hung up the phone and hit the gas! Ch***is build this fall. Stay tuned.
