I tore the 235 out of my hay sweep last nite to find that the original motor in the pickup had different motor mounts even though its the same engine? The new motor also doesn't have provisions for the factory motor's motor mounts. what style motor mount should i use? The new motor has mid mounts like on a small block and provisions for a mount just under the harmonic balancer.

the truck is a 58 along with the original motor and all i know is that on the new motor is that it came out of an early 60s delivery truck that was converted to a hay sweep and the numbers stamped on the distributor pad are F0228A

IIRC there is a mount plate on the front of the engine that can be changed out for the proper configuration. take off the old motor, install on the replacement

i do believe 60 and newer 235's had that were in trucks had that type of front mount as the cars were saddle mounted like sbc using side of block. do a little surfing on stovebolt.com and you will find your info.
